Optional Greenhouse Base with Corner Posts

Place on hard or even SOFT GROUND!

The usual golden rule when erecting a greenhouse is to place it on a hard and level surface so as to keep the greenhouse from twisting or becoming unstable over time.

Vitavia Green Corner Post

If you want to install your greenhouse on soft ground then our optional Vitavia steel bases come with corner posts that you can bolt to the base. These posts are roughly 18 inches long and can be sunk into soil and then concreted in place once your greenhouse is level and square.

Vitavia Green No Corner Post

If you are intending to put your greenhouse on slabs or concrete then you simply don't attach the posts to the base, simple!

Toughened Safety Glass

Toughened Glass is much stronger than Horticultural glass and won't crack. If it does break it disintegrates into hundreds of small pieces that are unlikely to cause injury, unlike Horticultural Glass which breaks into shards. It's heavy weight also means it's the best glazing option for windy spots and the UK in general!

Full Length Glass (Long Pane)

Toughened Glass is long pane, meaning each panel in your greenhouse is one piece of glass. No unsightly overlaps where dirt and grime can collect and no Overlap Clips to worry about.

Green Powder Coated Frame

Vitavia Powder Coated Green Frame

The green powder coated frame and optional base look great and protect the aluminium from weathering. Powder coating is a process where powdered paint is applied using an electrostatic charge to transfer the powder to the aluminium.

The aluminium is then heated to 200 degrees centigrade in special ovens which melt the powder and fuse it to the surface of the aluminium. This gives a durable and smooth coating when solidified. The powder coated frame or base now has a nice deep colour that is UV resistant with a life expectancy of over 25 years!

If you're looking for a solid aluminium greenhouse that does what it says on the tin, then you simply can't go wrong with a Venus ! To make this greenhouse really solid we recommend you add a Vitavia steel base, as it keeps the greenhouse square and rigid when erected onto a nice level surface like slabs or concrete. If you plan to erect your greenhouse onto soft ground, Vitavia steel bases have corner posts that you can sink into the earth and then concrete into place once the greenhouse is level.

    Do I need a Base Plinth?

    If you intend on putting the greenhouse onto ANY flat surface, then the answer is YES as it is needed to make the greenhouse rigid and stable from corner to corner. Corner spikes are provided with the base for use on soil and soft surfaces.

    If you are intending on building a raised brick or raised timber plinth to the exact measurements of the greenhouse frame, then the answer is NO.
