About Our Glazing Accessories
We hold 22 glazing spares in stock for Elite and Vitavia greenhouses, with prices from £15. The range covers spring clips, W clips, overlap clips, glazing rubber, neoprene seal, bar capping, muntin spacers, nuts and bolts, and replacement acrylic panels. Each part is matched to a manufacturer frame profile, so the right clip grips your glass at the correct tension.
Lost a handful of clips after a storm? Most repairs need a clip set and a length of seal. For wider projects, browse our full greenhouse spare parts range, our greenhouse accessories, or our polycarbonate greenhouses if a panel has cracked beyond repair. We fit these parts ourselves, so we can tell you what actually works.
Why We Chose These Brands
"I only carry genuine Elite and Vitavia clips because pattern copies never grip right. I have watched cheap clips snap on the first windy day. A genuine spring clip holds the pane at the tension the bar was designed for. It costs a few pounds more and saves you a re-order next winter."
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse Stores💡 Tip: Check whether your greenhouse uses spring clips that press glass to the bar, or overlap clips that sit between panes. Most models need both. Count your glazing bars and allow 2 clips per bar per pane.
🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: Replacing Lost Clips After a Storm
Clips work loose in high wind and drop into the border soil. When you re-glaze, replace the whole row, not just the gaps. Mixing old tired clips with new ones leaves uneven pressure across the pane. I always carry a spare pack of 20 in the van for exactly this job. Press each clip on with a firm thumb, never a hammer.
Matt's Pick for Exposed Gardens
Best For: windy or coastal sites where clips keep loosening
Why I Recommend It: bar capping clamps every pane along the full bar, so glass stops rattling and panes hold in gusts
Price: from £85

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the difference between spring clips and overlap clips?
Spring clips press glass against the glazing bar. Overlap clips hook between two panes where they meet, stopping the upper pane sliding down. Most glass greenhouses need both. Spring clips are sometimes called W clips and overlap clips are called Z clips.
-
Which glazing seal do I need for my greenhouse?
Elite greenhouses use neoprene or mastic bead. Vitavia models use standard glazing rubber. Check the existing seal on your frame. A black strip means neoprene. A grey putty-like strip means mastic bead. Vitavia rubber comes in 10-metre rolls.
-
Do Elite clips fit Vitavia greenhouses?
No, Elite and Vitavia clips are not interchangeable. Each maker shapes its clips to match a specific glazing bar profile. The wrong clip can leave glass loose or crack a pane in wind. Always order clips matched to your greenhouse brand.
-
What is bar capping and is it worth fitting?
Bar capping is an aluminium strip that clamps glass along the full bar. It replaces spring clips and resists wind far better. We recommend it for any exposed or coastal garden. Vitavia bar capping starts from £85.
-
How many clips do I need for my greenhouse?
Allow 2 spring clips per glazing bar per pane. A typical 6x8 greenhouse needs around 50 to 60 spring clips and 20 to 30 overlap clips. Larger models need more. Our packs of 20 and 50 cover most standard sizes.
