About Our Wheelie Bin Storage
A wheelie bin store hides one to three bins behind a tidy timber or resin enclosure. Prices start at £259 for a plastic double unit. Our range covers single, double and triple stores, plus combination units with crate shelves for council recycling boxes. The right store keeps your front garden smart and stops bins blowing over in wind. Many buyers pair a store with a matching log store or wider garden storage for a coordinated frontage.
We fit these stores ourselves, so we know what matters at the kerb. Timber units in slow-grown redwood pine suit traditional homes and take an annual oil. Resin and steel-effect stores need no upkeep and shrug off rain. Lid access is the daily test. Hinged timber lids and automatic chain lifts both keep the job hands-free. For tight frontages, a single store at the kerb edge saves space. For potting and tool overflow nearby, browse our potting sheds.
Why We Chose This Range
"We stock the Garden Village timber stores because the frames use 50x50mm posts and Tanalith E pressure treatment. Bin stores usually sit in a damp, shaded spot where rot starts fast. This treatment guards against fungal decay for ten years with no yearly painting. For buyers who want zero upkeep, we added the Lichfield resin range. Both options handle full 240-litre bins without the doors dropping."
Matt, Founder of Greenhouse StoresMatt's Tip: Match The Store To Your Bin Litres
Councils issue bins in 140, 240 and 360-litre sizes. A 240-litre store will not close over a 360-litre bin. Check the litre badge on your bin lid before you order. We list a store for each size, so measure once and buy right.
Installer's Note: Level The Base First
Full bins are heavy. If the base slopes, the timber frame twists and the doors catch on the floor. We set every store on level paving or concrete and check across the front posts with a spirit level. Get the base flat and the doors swing true for years.
Matt's Pick for Family Homes
Best For: two-bin households with general waste plus recycling
Why I Recommend It: the 240-litre double in pressure-treated redwood hides both bins and takes the daily knocks without sagging

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What size wheelie bin do your stores fit?
Our stores fit standard UK council bins in 140, 240 and 360 litres. Check the litre badge on your bin lid first. Each product page lists the bin size it suits in the dimensions tab.
-
How does the automatic lid opening work?
A chain links the timber store lid to your bin lid. Lift the wooden lid and your bin lid rises with it. This keeps disposal hands-free, which helps when your hands are full.
-
Do I need a concrete base?
Yes, a level paved or concrete base is strongly advised. Full bins are heavy and any ground movement drops the doors out of line. A flat base keeps the unit working for years.
-
Are wooden or plastic bin stores better?
Wooden stores look smarter and feel solid but need an annual oil. Resin stores need no upkeep and resist rain well. Pick timber for kerb appeal, resin for low maintenance.
-
Will a bin store keep foxes out?
Yes, an enclosed store with latch doors blocks foxes and rodents. They cannot tip the bins or chew the lids to reach food waste. Keep the doors latched after each use.
