About our palram canopia glory greenhouses
The Palram Canopia Glory range represents the flagship of polycarbonate greenhouse design. Built with 10mm twin-wall polycarbonate panels, more than double the thickness of standard 4mm glazing, these structures deliver exceptional thermal performance for serious year-round growers. If you live in an extremely exposed coastal area, while the Glory is strong, we recommend the weight of Toughened Glass Greenhouses for maximum stability.

Why We Chose This Range
“We stock the Palram Glory as our top-tier polycarbonate recommendation for one reason: Thermal Buffering. In the UK, early spring frosts can kill seedlings in a standard 4mm greenhouse overnight. The Glory’s 10mm panels create a massive insulating air gap that keeps internal temperatures up to 5°C higher than the outside air without supplementary heating. It is effectively 'double glazing' for your garden, making it the only polycarbonate structure we trust for high-value tropical or sensitive overwintering crops.”
, Matt, Founder of Greenhouse StoresMatt's Installation Tip: The 10mm Panel Seal
Because the Glory uses ultra-thick 10mm panels, the sliding mechanism is more precise than standard models. If your base is even 5mm out of level, the panels will 'bind' and become difficult to slide into the anthracite frame.
Always build your concrete or paved foundation using a laser level. Once assembled, I recommend applying a small bead of neutral-cure silicone to the top edge of the panels where they meet the ridge beam. This prevents moisture from entering the twin-wall flutes, which can lead to algae growth over 5-10 years, so your 10mm panels remain crystal clear and thermally efficient. Why 10mm polycarbonate outperforms glass
The Glory's 10mm twin-wall construction creates an insulating air pocket that keeps temperatures 5°C warmer in winter compared to single-glazed alternatives. This means earlier planting in spring and extended harvests into autumn, without supplementary heating costs.
Light diffusion is another advantage. Unlike glass, polycarbonate scatters sunlight evenly, eliminating scorching hotspots while so all plants receive consistent illumination. The panels also filter 99.9% of harmful UV rays, protecting both you and your plants.
Prices start from £1,090 for the Glory 6x8, rising to £2,550 for the Glory 8x20. For growers prioritising thermal efficiency and durability over traditional aesthetics, the Glory delivers exceptional value.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
How does 10mm polycarbonate compare to glass?
The 10mm twin-wall polycarbonate on the Glory offers significantly better heat retention than glass. While toughened glass is heavier and better for wind resistance, the Glory's 10mm panels act like double-glazing, protecting plants from extreme temperature drops and diffusing sunlight to prevent scorching.
-
Is the Palram Glory suitable for windy areas?
Yes. The Glory is wind-rated up to 100km/h (62mph) when properly anchored to a solid concrete or paved base. Its reinforced 56mm aluminium frame profile is significantly thicker than standard polycarbonate kits, making it a solid choice for exposed UK gardens.
-
Does the Palram Glory greenhouse require a concrete base?
Yes, a solid level base is essential. Palram recommends either a concrete slab or paved area that's perfectly level. The Glory's anchor kit (included) bolts directly to hardstanding. Timber bases are not recommended due to the structure's weight.
-
How long does it take to assemble a Palram Glory greenhouse?
Plan for 8-12 hours for two people on the smaller 6x8 and 8x8 models. Larger sizes (8x12 to 8x20) typically require 12-20 hours. We recommend spreading assembly over a weekend. Pro tip: apply silicone lubricant to panel channels for smoother sliding.
