Whether it's a £300 shed or a £10,000 garden room, timber must never touch the ground. A common mistake is laying the floor bearers directly onto a damp patio or grass.
You must raise the building on pressure-treated bearers or a grid base to create a 50mm air gap underneath. This airflow prevents rising damp from rotting the floor joists and ensures your 10-year warranty remains valid.”
