When we fit the Eden 2KW in smaller greenhouses, we always tell customers the same thing: crack the roof vent by 10–15mm on each side of the ridge before lighting it. Any gas heater produces CO2 and moisture during combustion. Without ventilation, condensation builds up on the glass and on your plants overnight. A small gap is enough to let the gas escape while the thermostat keeps the heat steady.
The Eden 2KW suits 6×8ft and 6×10ft greenhouses where mains electricity is not available. The twin safety systems — an ODS valve and a flame failure device — make it suitable for overnight use. The ODS valve monitors oxygen levels and shuts off the gas before they fall to a dangerous level. The flame failure device acts independently: if the flame goes out for any reason, it cuts the gas supply within seconds.
Propane consumption at 2kW is modest. A standard 13kg cylinder lasts several weeks with typical overnight use from October through to March. The built-in thermostat cycles the burner on and off to hold your chosen temperature rather than running continuously, which extends cylinder life further. In a well-insulated 6×8ft greenhouse, we typically measure 3–5°C above outside temperature overnight on this heater.
The green powder-coated steel finish is matched to most aluminium greenhouse frames and holds up well in the damp greenhouse environment. At 330mm wide, it fits between most staging legs without blocking the path. Everything needed to connect it is in the box: the heater, gas hose, and regulator for a standard propane cylinder.

A solid base is the backbone of any greenhouse. You might think skipping this step saves time, but trust me?I've seen plenty of greenhouses fail because of poor foundations. A dodgy base causes more headaches than you'd believe.
What happens with a bad base? Glass cracks. Doors jam. The structure twists. Water pools where it shouldn't. And fixing these problems costs way more than doing it right first time.

The best position for a greenhouse in the UK is south-facing with the ridge running east to west. Keep at least 2 metres from buildings and trees, on level ground with good drainage. A south-facing 6x8 greenhouse runs 3-5 degrees C warmer than the same model facing north.
