About Our Palram Canopia Hybrid Greenhouses
The Palram Hybrid pairs clear polycarbonate lower panels with a diffused twin-wall roof. You see straight into the greenhouse at eye level. The roof spreads light evenly, so seedlings get warmth without leaf scorch on hot days. Prices start at £370 for the 6x4, which makes this our best-value way into a polycarbonate greenhouse. Every model uses a rust-proof resin frame. We fit these across the UK and the frame never needs treating or painting.
This range sits between two others we stock. The wider Palram Canopia greenhouses include fully clear and fully diffused models. For other brands, browse our polycarbonate greenhouses. Short on space? The compact 6x4 greenhouses page lists every small option. The Hybrid comes in silver, green and grey, in sizes from 6x4 up to 6x14.
Why We Chose This Range
"I rate the Hybrid because the clear lower panels solve the one complaint people have about polycarbonate. You can actually see your plants. The resin frame is the real winner though. I have fitted timber and aluminium for years. This frame just gets bolted together and forgotten about."
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse Stores💡 Tip: Stand the greenhouse where it catches morning sun. The diffused roof keeps midday heat steady inside.
🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: Anchor the base first
The resin frame is light, so always bolt it to a level base before glazing. We see wind damage on units fixed straight to soft ground. A paved or concrete base, anchored at every corner, keeps it firm in a gale. Get the base square and the panels drop in fast.
Matt's Pick: Palram Canopia Hybrid 6x6 Green
Best For: First-time growers who want walk-in room without overspending.
Why I Recommend It: The 6x6 gives you space for staging on one side and tall plants on the other. Green blends into most gardens better than silver.
Price: from £419

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What makes the Palram Hybrid different from other polycarbonate greenhouses?
It mixes clear and diffused panels. The lower walls are clear polycarbonate, so you can see in at eye level. The roof uses diffused twin-wall sheets that spread light and stop leaf scorch.
-
Will plants scorch under the diffused roof?
No, the diffused roof prevents scorch. Twin-wall polycarbonate scatters direct sun across the whole interior. Plants get even light and steady warmth rather than harsh midday rays through clear glass.
-
Does the resin frame rust?
No, the resin frame cannot rust. It needs no painting, no treating and no rust protection. We have fitted these frames across the UK and they hold up in coastal and exposed gardens.
-
What size should a first-time grower choose?
We suggest the 6x6 for most beginners. It gives walk-in room and space for staging on one side. The 6x4 suits patios, while the 6x12 and 6x14 suit serious growers.
-
Do I need a base for a Hybrid greenhouse?
Yes, every Hybrid needs a firm, level base. A paved or concrete base anchored at each corner keeps the light resin frame stable. Never fix one straight onto soft soil.
