Corner Garden Rooms

Corner Garden Rooms

A Corner Garden Room is the smartest way to reclaim "dead space" in your garden. By slotting a pentagonal structure into a 90-degree corner, you preserve your lawn area while gaining a fully functional home office or summerhouse. Unlike standard square cabins, the angled frontage provides a unique panoramic view of your garden. Our collection features premium Palmako (Nordic Spruce) and Lichfield models, specifically engineered with "chalet-cut" corners to ensure wind-tight structural integrity even in exposed locations.

About Corner Garden Rooms

Corner Garden Rooms are the ultimate solution for maximising limited outdoor space. By utilizing the often-neglected corners of your garden, these pentagonal structures provide a substantial internal area without dominating your lawn. Whether you need a Garden Office that doesn't obstruct your view or a Summerhouse for evening relaxation, our range offers a practical, stylish answer.

Our collection includes high-quality Log Cabins from Palmako and Lichfield, featuring wall thicknesses from 28mm up to 44mm. The unique angled frontage of a corner cabin (usually featuring double doors and side windows) floods the interior with light and offers a commanding view back across your garden.

Key Features of Corner Cabins

  • Space Efficiency: Pentagonal footprint fits perfectly into 90° corners.
  • Panoramic Views: Angled front doors create a wide field of view.
  • Structural Integrity: "Chalet-cut" corners provide superior wind resistance.
  • Versatile Use: Available in 28mm (Summerhouse) and 44mm+ (Office) specifications.

Why We Chose This Range

“We stock Palmako and Lichfield corner cabins because of their joinery precision. A corner cabin relies on complex 'chalet-cut' log connections to stay square. Cheaper alternatives often use simple overlap joints that draft and warp over time. Our chosen models use 28mm-44mm thick tongue-and-groove logs that lock together tightly, ensuring the building remains weather-resistant and structurally sound for decades.”

🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: The "90-Degree Myth"

Most garden fences are not perfect 90-degree angles. If you try to push a perfectly square corner cabin right into a non-square fence corner, you will end up with a large, ugly gap on one side.

Always plan to leave a 40-50cm maintenance gap between the cabin walls and your fences. This hides the fence angle discrepancy and, crucially, allows you to walk behind the cabin to treat the timber and clear gutters.”

Frequently Asked Questions about Corner Garden Rooms

  • Do corner cabins need planning permission?

Most of our corner cabins are designed with a low roof pitch (under 2.5m) to comply with Permitted Development rights. However, pyramid-roof styles often exceed this height. Check the 'Ridge Height' in the specification tab carefully before ordering. If under 2.5m, you can usually place it within 2m of a boundary.

  • Can I put the cabin right against the fence?

No. You must leave a gap (at least 40cm) for maintenance (painting/treating) and airflow. If wood touches a fence or wall, damp will bridge across and rot the cabin within a few years.

  • What base do I need for a corner cabin?

You need a solid, level base that matches the footprint of the cabin. Concrete or paving slabs are best. Note that the base must be square (90-degree corners) even if your garden fences aren't!

  • Are they suitable for year-round use?

Models with 44mm wall thickness or greater are suitable for year-round use if you add floor and roof insulation. Thinner 28mm models are best suited as Spring/Summer/Autumn garden rooms.
