Expert Advice We install garden buildings and know what lasts

We stock 112 garden structures including pergolas, gazebos, shelters, arbours, and door canopies, priced from £199 to £15,000. Our range covers timber pergolas from Power, aluminium patio covers from Palram, polycarbonate gazebos, and heavy-duty steel shelters. Every structure is chosen for its ability to handle British weather year after year.

About Our Garden Structures

We carry 112 garden structures across six categories: pergolas, gazebos, patio covers, door canopies, carports, and heavy-duty shelters. Prices start at £199 for a polycarbonate door canopy and go up to £15,000 for a commercial-grade Shield shelter. Every product is selected for structural integrity in British conditions, from coastal wind to heavy snowfall.

Our timber pergolas from Power use pressure-treated softwood with 10-year warranties. The Lichfield Pergola 3x3 at £1,775 is our most requested model for patio dining areas. Palram's aluminium-framed gazebos and patio covers use powder-coated frames that never need painting. For open-sided vehicle protection, see our dedicated Carports page.

Looking for enclosed garden buildings instead? Our Summerhouses offer fully weatherproof rooms, while Workshops give you a practical workspace. For growing under cover, browse our Greenhouses collection.

Why We Chose This Range

"We have built and installed everything from simple door canopies to 5-metre pergola runs. The structures we stock are the ones that go up cleanly and stay standing. Palram's aluminium frames are genuinely maintenance-free. Power's timber pergolas use thick enough posts that they do not flex in wind. We dropped brands that did not meet that standard."

Types of Garden Structures We Offer

Pergolas

Open-top timber frames for climbing plants, outdoor dining, or defining garden zones. Power pergolas come in sizes from 6x6 to 18x10 feet with pressure-treated posts and bearers.

Gazebos

Covered structures with solid roofing for year-round outdoor entertaining. Polycarbonate or metal roofing keeps rain off while letting light through.

Patio Covers

Wall-mounted canopy structures that extend your living space. Palram Sierra patio covers attach to your house wall and shelter an area up to 3x5.5 metres.

Door Canopies

Compact overhead shelters for front and back doors. Stay dry while opening the door. Polycarbonate panels resist UV and hail.

Matt's Tip

Before ordering a pergola or gazebo, check whether your site is level and measure the diagonal. An out-of-square base creates fitting problems that are difficult to correct once the frame is up. We always recommend setting out string lines and checking with a spirit level before the delivery arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need planning permission for a garden structure?

Most garden structures are permitted development in England. Pergolas, gazebos, and patio covers under 2.5m at the eaves and not forward of the front elevation usually do not need planning permission. Structures over 3m tall or in conservation areas may need approval. Check with your local council before ordering.

What is the difference between a pergola and a gazebo?

A pergola has an open-slatted roof; a gazebo has a solid roof. Pergolas provide partial shade and support climbing plants like wisteria or roses. Gazebos give full rain protection, making them better for outdoor dining in unpredictable weather. Choose based on whether you want shelter or a planting feature.

How do I maintain a wooden pergola?

Apply a wood preservative or stain every 2-3 years. Power pergolas come pressure-treated with a 10-year anti-rot warranty. Re-coating extends the life well beyond that. Check fixings annually and tighten any bolts loosened by wind movement. Wooden structures are easy to maintain if you stay on schedule.

Can patio covers withstand heavy snow?

Palram patio covers are tested to handle snow loads up to 100kg per square metre. The aluminium frames flex rather than crack under load. Polycarbonate panels are virtually unbreakable. In severe snow, brush off heavy accumulation to prevent pooling. These covers handle normal British winter conditions without issue.

Which garden structure is best for a small garden?

A door canopy or compact 6x6 pergola suits small gardens best. Door canopies take zero floor space and protect your entrance. A small pergola defines a seating area without dominating the garden. For an enclosed option in tight spaces, see our Small Garden Rooms.
