Lichfield Garden Buildings

Lichfield Garden Buildings represent the pinnacle of timber engineering, utilizing high-grade glue-laminated Siberian birch and natural pine. Unlike standard timber which can twist or split, this "glulam" construction significantly reduces warping and movement, ensuring a structure that stands the test of time. Designed specifically for the modern homeowner, these premium cabins offer the perfect environment for dedicated home offices or comfortable guest accommodation, blending seamlessly into natural garden landscapes.

Why Choose a Lichfield Garden Room?

🌲 Premium Materials

Constructed from glue-laminated Siberian Birch and Natural Pine. This engineering process creates timber sections that are stronger and more stable than solid wood, drastically reducing the risk of warping or shrinkage over the seasons.

🖥️ Office-Ready Glazing

Features tinted, toughened double glazing as standard. This not only improves thermal efficiency but also reduces sun glare, making these buildings ideal for screen work during bright summer days.

🔒 Enhanced Security

Your equipment and furniture are protected by high-security cylinder locking systems on all doors, giving you peace of mind whether you use the space for business or leisure.

✅ 7-Year Warranty

Invest with confidence thanks to a comprehensive 7-Year Manufacturer Warranty covering the timber structure against rot and structural failure.

Installation & Base Preparation

⚠️ Important Note on Assembly

These are substantial, professional-grade structures with total weights often exceeding 1,000kg. While self-assembly is possible for experienced builders or carpenters, the heavy timber sections make it a challenging task for the average DIYer.

Common Uses

🏠 Garden Offices
With thick timber walls and tinted glazing, these rooms provide a quiet, insulated environment suitable for year-round full-time work, separating your home life from your business.

💼 Commercial Spaces
The high-end finish of Siberian birch makes these buildings impressive reception areas, therapy rooms, or meeting spaces for welcoming clients professionally.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need planning permission?

In most cases, Lichfield Garden Buildings fall under Permitted Development rights. Because they are designed with a ridge height under 2.5m, they can typically be placed within 2 metres of your boundary without planning permission, provided they don't cover more than 50% of your garden or sit forward of your principal elevation. Always check with your local planning office if you live in a Conservation Area or Listed Building.

  • How long is delivery?

Due to the specialized manufacturing process of the glue-laminated timber, current lead times are approximately 10-12 weeks from the point of order. Our delivery team will contact you well in advance to arrange a suitable curbside drop-off date.

  • Is the timber treated?

The timber arrives untreated to allow the natural beauty of the Siberian birch to shine through. To validate your warranty and protect the wood from UK weather, you must treat the building with a high-quality wood preservative (such as Sadolin or Sikkens) immediately upon assembly. We recommend re-treating every 2-3 years depending on exposure.
