The Swallow Lark Painted Greenhouse is the narrowest model in the Swallow range at just 4ft wide. Hand-built in Rotherham by skilled carpenters, each Lark uses ThermoWood timber heat-treated at 215°C. This creates a frame that resists rot naturally without chemical preservatives. A factory-sprayed painted finish is included as standard on every model.

Matt's Installation Tip: Base Preparation for 4ft Greenhouses
With only a 4ft width, the Lark base needs to be perfectly level. Even a 5mm slope across 4ft is noticeable when fitting the door. I recommend paving slabs on a compacted sand bed rather than concrete. This lets you adjust individual slabs if the ground settles. Have your base ready at least two weeks before our installation date so it can settle properly.

Prices range from £3,059 to £3,748. Every price includes the ThermoWood frame, factory-painted finish, and 3mm toughened safety glass. Automatic roof vent openers, staging, and free installation on UK mainland are also included. Pay 20% deposit and the balance after installation.
What colours are available for the Swallow Lark?
Ten factory paint colours are available as standard. Popular choices include Lily White, Bracken, Olive, and Anthracite. The paint is factory-sprayed before delivery, giving a smooth finish that protects the ThermoWood from UV fading. Oiled and natural ThermoWood finishes are also available if you prefer the natural timber appearance.
How wide is the Swallow Lark greenhouse?
The Lark measures 4ft (1220mm) wide externally. This makes it the narrowest Swallow model and ideal for side passages, narrow gardens, or spaces against a wall. Internal width allows staging on one side with a comfortable working aisle.
Does the painted finish need repainting?
Factory paint typically lasts 5-7 years before needing a refresh. Because the ThermoWood underneath is naturally rot-resistant, the paint is purely for appearance and UV protection. When it fades, you can repaint with any exterior wood paint. The timber itself carries a 12-year warranty regardless of finish.
What is included with free installation?
Our team erects the complete greenhouse on your prepared base. This covers the ThermoWood frame, all glazing, staging, door fitting, and automatic vent installation. You provide the level base (concrete or paving slabs). Installation takes one day for the Lark. Delivery and installation is scheduled 8-12 weeks after ordering.
