The Vitavia Cassandra is an 8ft-wide glasshouse designed to sit on a 500mm dwarf wall, creating the classic look of a Victorian Orangery. Beyond the aesthetic, the brick base serves a critical function: it acts as a thermal mass, absorbing warmth during the day to protect plants at night. Supplied with toughened safety glass and a zero-trip threshold as standard, it bridges the gap between a professional growing space and a garden room.
The Cassandra is designed to sit on a 500mm high dwarf wall. The precision of this wall is critical.
Crucial Step: Do not build your wall based on approximate "8x10" or "8x12" dimensions. You must wait until you receive the official manufacturer's base plan from us. Give this plan to your builder/bricklayer. If the wall is even 20mm out, the toughened glass panels will not fit. Order the greenhouse first, build the wall second.
Why We Chose This Range
“We stock the Cassandra because it allows customers to get the 'Bespoke Heritage' look for a fraction of the price of a custom timber glasshouse. By building your own brick base to match your house, the Cassandra blends into your property rather than looking like a temporary structure. It’s the only mass-produced greenhouse that truly feels like a permanent building.”
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse StoresHow high should the dwarf wall be?
The Cassandra is designed for a standard 500mm high wall. This usually equates to roughly 7 courses of standard bricks, but you must follow the specific technical drawing provided with the order to ensure the door threshold sits flush.
Does the greenhouse come with the bricks?
No. You purchase the aluminium frame and glass from us. You need to source the bricks locally. This is actually a benefit, as it allows you to match the bricks to your house or garden patio for a seamless look.
Is Toughened Glass standard?
Yes. Because the Cassandra is often used as a "Garden Room" or leisure space, it is only supplied with Toughened Safety Glass. This ensures maximum safety for family use.
How do I enter the greenhouse over the wall?
The door section is designed to cut through the wall. You leave a gap in the brickwork for the door opening. The Cassandra features a low-threshold track that sits flush with the floor, eliminating the need to step over a frame.
