About Our Patio Covers
A wall-mounted patio cover fixes a polycarbonate roof to your house wall. It keeps the patio, back door and bi-folds usable when it rains. The aluminium frame bolts to masonry and angles water away from the building. Prices start from £760 for a 3m x 3m Sierra. We fit these across the UK and know how each model anchors to brick and render.
These covers differ from freestanding shelters. They lean on the house and need a solid wall to take the fixings. If you want a standalone roof, see our Palram gazebos. For a small porch shelter only, browse our door canopies. To shelter a car instead, look at our carports.
Why We Chose This Range
"I picked Palram Canopia because the polycarbonate roofs hold up to British rain and hail. The aluminium frames never rust against a damp wall. We have fitted these on patios from Cornwall to Scotland."
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse Stores💡 Tip: Measure the wall height before you buy. The roof slopes down from the wall, so you need enough clearance above the door for the high edge.
🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: Fix into solid masonry
Always anchor the wall bracket into solid brick or block, never into render alone. Use the right resin or expansion bolts for the wall type. A weak fixing is the main cause of leaks and movement. Drill a test hole first to check what lies behind the surface.
Matt's Pick: Palram Canopia Olympia 3m x 4m Patio Cover White
Best For: A standard patio with a back door or single bi-fold.
Why I Recommend It: The Olympia gives the most cover for the price. The white frame suits most houses and the roof clears heavy rain fast.
Price: from £1,550

Frequently asked questions
Can I fit a patio cover to any house wall?
You need solid brick or block to take the fixings. Render over weak backing will not hold the wall bracket. Check what lies behind the surface before you drill.
Do I need planning permission for a patio cover?
Most patio covers fall under permitted development. Rules tighten near boundaries, in conservation areas and on listed homes. Check with your local council before you order.
Will a patio cover keep the rain off?
Yes, the sloped polycarbonate roof sheds rain away from the wall. Side rain can still blow in. Add side panels for more shelter on exposed patios.
What is the difference between a patio cover and a veranda?
A veranda often adds glazed sides for an enclosed feel. A patio cover is an open roof on posts. Both fix to the house wall.
How wide a patio can I cover?
Our Feria and Olympia reach up to 9m wide. Wider patios use linked sections. Tell us the span and we match the right model.
