The Swallow Lark is a 4ft wide wooden greenhouse designed specifically for narrow UK gardens. Hand-crafted in Rotherham from Scandinavian ThermoWood® baked at 215°C, it delivers the same build quality as larger Swallow models. It fits side passages, terraced gardens, and tight spots where a 6ft greenhouse will not go.

Matt's Installation Tip
Measure your available width carefully before ordering. The Lark needs 4ft 7in for the greenhouse itself plus 300mm clearance on at least one side for maintenance access. If your passage is exactly 5ft wide, it will fit. However, you will not be able to walk around the outside. We always ask customers to send us a photograph of the space before confirming the order.

Will a Swallow Lark fit in my garden?
The Lark is 4ft 7in (1400mm) wide externally. It is designed for narrow spaces where 6ft greenhouses will not fit. Check that your width allows at least 300mm clearance on one side for maintenance access. Length options from 4ft to 10ft let you choose the depth that suits your available space.
Does the Swallow Lark need wood treatment?
No chemical treatment is required. ThermoWood is heat-treated at 215°C, making it naturally resistant to rot, warping, and insect damage. The oiled finish protects and enhances the timber. A 12-year manufacturer warranty covers all timber against decay.
What is included with a Swallow Lark Greenhouse?
Every Lark includes toughened glass, staging, auto vents, and free installation. You get 3mm toughened safety glass, full-length slatted staging, and automatic Bayliss roof vent openers. A mortise lock, stainless steel handle, and 20mm PVC damp barrier are also standard. Free installation is included on all orders.
How does the Lark compare to aluminium 4ft greenhouses?
The Lark offers better insulation and wind resistance than aluminium alternatives. The ThermoWood frame holds glass with full-length timber beading rather than the wire clips used on aluminium models. This makes it far more secure in exposed positions. The included free installation also closes the price gap significantly, as aluminium greenhouses require DIY assembly or a paid installer.
