Vitavia Hera Hexagonal Greenhouse

The Vitavia Hera is more than a greenhouse; it is a Garden Pavilion designed to be the jewel of your outdoor space. Available in two sizes, the Hera features a stunning hexagonal design with generous 6ft eaves, offering ample headroom for tall plants or a table and chairs. The larger Hera 9000 is a customer favourite for its smart hybrid design: crystal-clear glass sides provide uninterrupted views of your garden, while the 6mm polycarbonate roof acts as a thermal barrier, diffusing harsh sunlight to protect you and your plants from scorching without the need for messy shading blinds.

🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: The Hexagon Geometry

The geometry of the Hera is unforgiving. Unlike a square greenhouse where you can "fudge" a slightly out-of-square base, a hexagon must be perfect.

Crucial Step: When laying your base, you cannot rely on measuring the sides alone. You must measure the diagonals (corner to opposite corner). All three diagonal measurements must be identical to the millimetre. If they differ, your base is "squashed," and the pre-cut roof panels simply will not fit.

Why We Chose This Range

“We stock the Vitavia Hera because it bridges the gap between a greenhouse and a summerhouse. Many of our customers use the Hera 9000 as a morning tea room. The specific combination of Toughened Glass walls and a Polycarbonate roof on the larger model is genius—it keeps the space bright but stops it from becoming an oven in July, making it usable for people, not just tomatoes.”

Common Questions About the Vitavia Hera

What sizes are available?

The Hera comes in two sizes: the Hera 4500 (approx 7ft x 8ft) which is perfect for smaller gardens, and the Hera 9000 (approx 11ft x 12ft) which offers a large 9m² area suitable for furniture and entertaining.

Why does the Hera 9000 have a polycarbonate roof?

The larger Hera 9000 features a 6mm Twin-Wall Polycarbonate roof combined with Toughened Glass sides. This "Hybrid" design is intentional: the roof acts as a shade to prevent the greenhouse from overheating in summer, protecting both plants and people from direct UV scorch.

Does it come with a base?

We strongly recommend adding the optional Steel Base Plinth. Creating a perfect hexagonal foundation from concrete or slabs is difficult; the steel base gives you a factory-square template to work from, ensuring your angles are correct.

Is it difficult to build?

The hexagonal shape makes the Hera more complex to build than a standard rectangular greenhouse, particularly the roof section. We recommend allowing a full weekend for assembly or choosing our professional Installation Service for a stress-free build.
