The Swallow Kingfisher Painted Greenhouse is the best-selling 6ft wide wooden greenhouse in the UK. It now comes with a factory-sprayed painted finish included as standard. Built in Rotherham by skilled carpenters and joiners, the Kingfisher is constructed from Scandinavian ThermoWood heat-treated at 215C. The painted finish provides superior weather protection over the standard oiled version. We have fitted more Kingfisher greenhouses than any other Swallow model over the past 12 years.
Standard features include 3mm toughened safety glass, automatic roof vents, and full-length slatted staging. A mortise lock door with stainless steel handle is fitted. What paint colours are available for the Kingfisher?
Swallow offers 10 standard paint colours for the Kingfisher. Options include Lily White, Lulworth Blue, Vert De Terre, and Bracken. Also available are Olive, Railings, Anthracite, Mole's Breath, Purbeck Stone, and Oxford Stone. Custom colour matches are also available for a small surcharge. The paint is factory-sprayed at Swallow's Rotherham workshop for a smooth, even finish.
How does the painted finish compare to the oiled finish?
The painted finish provides better weather protection and a cleaner look. Oiled ThermoWood will naturally silver over time and needs annual re-oiling to maintain colour. The factory-sprayed paint seals the timber surface and typically lasts 5-8 years before needing a repaint. Both finishes sit on top of ThermoWood that is already naturally rot-resistant, so the choice is mainly aesthetic.
Is installation included with the painted Kingfisher?
Yes, free professional installation is included in every price. Our team delivers and erects the complete greenhouse on your prepared base. You pay 20% deposit when ordering, with the balance due only after installation is complete. The full process from order to installation takes 8-12 weeks.
What base do I need for a Kingfisher Painted Greenhouse?

Does the paint void the 12-year warranty?
No, the factory-applied paint does not affect the warranty. Swallow's 12-year manufacturer warranty covers the ThermoWood frame against rot and decay regardless of finish. The warranty applies to both oiled and painted models. Only self-applied aftermarket coatings could potentially affect the warranty.
