The Palram - Canopia Balance 8x16 is a long, bright greenhouse with room to grow down both sides.
The clear single wall polycarbonate sides let in over 90% of daylight. Plants get a strong start from early spring right through to autumn. The twin wall polycarbonate roof spreads that light, holds warmth in and screens out harmful UV.
The green powder coated aluminium frame will not rust or need painting. The green finish blends into the garden and keeps its colour for years.
Wide double doors lock shut and open onto a low threshold, so a wheelbarrow rolls straight in. Three roof vents keep air moving on warm days. The glazing sits in a sliding panel system, so there are no loose clips to work free in the wind.
The galvanised steel base plinth is included, so there is nothing extra to buy. A 5 year warranty covers the frame.
This greenhouse is ideal for a sheltered spot. If your garden is windy or exposed, we recommend a Glass Greenhouse, ideally a Toughened Glass Greenhouse.

Clear Polycarbonate: This polycarbonate is completely clear like glass. It is very thin at 0.2mm, but extremely tough and shatterproof.
Twin Wall Polycarbonate: This polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable and high impact resistant. They are slightly opaque, preventing strong sunlight exposure, yet offer 80% light transmission with high thermal insulation. The panels are 100% UV protected and will not discolour, fracture or shatter.
Yes itβs shatterproof and high impact resistant. However, as polycarbonate is very light, we do not recommend placing these greenhouses in exposed areas with high wind.
No, there is no floor or base. These greenhouses are ideally to be placed on a concrete, slab or decking base.
We recommend securing the greenhouse to a hard, level surface (concrete, slabs, or decking) immediately after construction. This is essential for the stability and rigidity of your new greenhouse. You can use a screw and a washer through the compatible pre-drilled holes in the greenhouse frame into a raw plug in your concrete/slab surface.

A solid base is the backbone of any greenhouse. You might think skipping this step saves time, but trust me?I've seen plenty of greenhouses fail because of poor foundations. A dodgy base causes more headaches than you'd believe.
What happens with a bad base? Glass cracks. Doors jam. The structure twists. Water pools where it shouldn't. And fixing these problems costs way more than doing it right first time.

The best position for a greenhouse in the UK is south-facing with the ridge running east to west. Keep at least 2 metres from buildings and trees, on level ground with good drainage. A south-facing 6x8 greenhouse runs 3-5 degrees C warmer than the same model facing north.
