About Our Greenhouse Glazing Accessories
We stock 22 glazing spares for Elite and Vitavia greenhouses, priced from £15 to £159. The range covers spring clips, wire clips, overlap clips, glazing rubber, neoprene seals, mastic bead, bar capping systems, muntin spacers, nuts and bolts, and replacement acrylic panels.
Every part is matched to the manufacturer's frame profile. Elite clips fit Elite glazing bars. Vitavia clips fit Vitavia channels. Using the wrong clip type can crack glass or leave panes loose, so getting the right match matters. If you are unsure which part you need, call us on 0800 098 8877 and we will check against your model number.
All orders ship with free UK mainland delivery. Most items are lightweight spares dispatched within 2-3 working days.
Why We Stock These Brands
"We only carry genuine Elite and Vitavia glazing parts because pattern copies never fit properly. I have seen cheap clips snap on the first windy day. The genuine spring clips grip the glass at exactly the right tension for each frame type, and the rubber seals are formulated to last 10+ years without perishing. It costs a few pounds more, but you will not be re-ordering next winter."
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse StoresChoosing Your Glazing Accessory: Quick Guide
💡 Tip: Before ordering clips, check whether your greenhouse uses spring clips (W clips that press glass against the bar) or overlap clips (Z clips that sit between overlapping panes). Most greenhouses need both types. Count how many glazing bars you have and allow 2 clips per bar per pane.
🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: Upgrading to Bar Capping
If your greenhouse is in an exposed or coastal location, bar capping is the single best upgrade you can make. It replaces wire clips with a continuous aluminium strip that clamps every pane along the full length of each glazing bar. We fit bar capping on every installation in windy areas. It stops glass rattle, prevents panes lifting in gusts, and seals out drafts. Available for Vitavia Venus, Apollo, Neptune, Jupiter, and Phoenix models from £85.
🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: Replacing Perished Seals
Rubber seals typically last 8-12 years before they start cracking. When they go, you get drafts, leaks, and glass movement. For Elite greenhouses, use neoprene strip (black, £35 for 50ft) or mastic bead (grey, £59 for 150ft). For Vitavia models, use the standard glazing rubber (£22 for 10 metres). Peel the old seal out completely before pressing in the new one.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between spring clips and overlap clips?
Spring clips press glass against the glazing bar. Overlap clips hook between two panes where they overlap, stopping the top pane from sliding down. Most glass greenhouses need both types fitted during assembly. Spring clips are sometimes called W clips, and overlap clips are called Z clips.
Which glazing seal do I need for my greenhouse?
Elite greenhouses use neoprene or mastic bead. Vitavia greenhouses use standard glazing rubber. Check the existing seal on your frame. If it is a black strip, you likely need neoprene. If it is a grey putty-like strip, you need mastic bead. Vitavia models use a softer grey rubber strip sold in 10-metre rolls.
Do Elite clips fit Vitavia greenhouses?
No, Elite and Vitavia clips are not interchangeable. Each manufacturer's clips are shaped to match their specific glazing bar profile. Fitting the wrong clips can leave glass loose or crack panes under wind pressure. Always order clips matched to your greenhouse brand.
What is bar capping and is it worth the upgrade?
Bar capping is an aluminium strip that clamps glass along the full glazing bar. It replaces spring clips and gives far better wind resistance. We recommend it for any greenhouse in an exposed garden or coastal area. Vitavia bar capping starts from £85 and fits Venus, Apollo, Neptune, Jupiter, and Phoenix models.
How many clips do I need for my greenhouse?
Allow 2 spring clips per glazing bar per pane of glass. A typical 6x8 greenhouse needs around 50-60 spring clips and 20-30 overlap clips. Larger models need more. Our packs of 20 (Vitavia) and 50 (Elite) cover most standard sizes.
Can I use acrylic panels instead of glass?
Yes, acrylic is a lighter and shatter-resistant alternative to glass. Our replacement acrylic panels (610mm x 610mm, 2mm thick) fit Vitavia Saturn, Vitavia Orion, Halls Supreme, and Halls Silverline lean-to models. They transmit light well and are safer around children.
How do I fit a muntin and roof glass spacer?
Muntin spacers slot between two panes of roof glass to remove overlap. They let you butt-join panes edge to edge for a cleaner look and better water run-off. Available in white, black, green, and graphite to match your Elite greenhouse frame colour. Each spacer is 2ft long.
