ThermoWood® is heat-treated at 215°C to remove moisture and resin. It will not warp or rot. Natural, oiled and painted finishes are available. The Swallow Raven is an 8ft wide wooden greenhouse hand-built in Rotherham from Scandinavian ThermoWood® heat-treated at 215°C. The extra width provides double doors for wheelbarrow access and higher eaves for tall crops. There is room for staging on both sides. Every model includes 3mm toughened safety glass, automatic roof vents, full-length slatted staging, and a mortise lock as standard.

Dwarf wall versions with a raised 460mm timber base are available for each length. They add insulation and reduce bending when potting.
Matt's Installation Tip
The Raven is a heavy building. Your concrete base needs to be at least 2700mm wide and level to within 5mm. We see problems when customers pour bases to the exact greenhouse footprint. Always add 50mm each side for the PVC damp barrier strip that sits under the frame. A base that is too small voids your warranty and lets pests in underneath.

Does a Swallow Raven Greenhouse need wood treatment?
No chemical treatment is required. ThermoWood is heat-treated at 215°C, which removes moisture and resin from the timber. This makes it naturally rot-resistant without annual preservative applications. You can leave it to weather or re-oil periodically to maintain the honey-brown colour.
What is included with a Swallow Raven Greenhouse?
Every Raven includes double doors, toughened glass, staging, and free installation. You get 3mm toughened safety glass, full-length staging, and automatic Bayliss roof vent openers. Allow 8-12 weeks from order to installation. Each Raven is built to order in Rotherham. Once you submit base photographs and Swallow approves the surface, they schedule delivery and fitting in a single day. Installation takes 6-8 hours for standard models and a full day for 16ft and above.
