About our swallow raven dwarf wall greenhouses

The Swallow Raven Dwarf Wall Greenhouse is 8ft wide with double doors. Built on a brick or block dwarf wall base, typically 600mm high. It is the widest standard Swallow on a dwarf wall. The wall retains heat overnight and gives a traditional Victorian appearance.

We stock nine sizes from the compact Swallow Raven 8x4 Dwarf Wall to the expansive Swallow Raven 8x20 Dwarf Wall. Prices start from £2,989. For the standard base version, see our Swallow Raven Greenhouses. Browse our full Swallow Greenhouses range or explore our wider selection of Wooden Greenhouses.

Why We Chose This Range

"The Raven Dwarf Wall is my top recommendation for serious growers wanting the best insulation. The 8ft width with double doors means you can wheel a loaded barrow straight in. On a dwarf wall, the heat retention is noticeably better than a standard base. I have fitted Raven Dwarf Walls where the overnight temperature stayed 4-5°C above outside air temperature without any heating. That is the difference the brick wall makes."

Matt's Installation Tip: Double Door Alignment on Dwarf Walls

The double doors on the Raven are its standout feature, but they demand precise wall construction around the door opening. The lintel area must be perfectly level and square. If the wall is even slightly out at the door, the double doors will not close properly. I recommend your bricklayer builds the door section last, once the rest of the wall has set. Use a plumb bob on both door jamb positions.

  • How much does a Swallow Raven Dwarf Wall Greenhouse cost?

Prices range from £2,989 to £6,720. Every price includes the ThermoWood frame, natural finish, and 3mm toughened safety glass. Automatic roof vent openers, staging, double doors with mortise locks, and free installation are included. Pay 20% deposit and the balance after installation.

  • Why does the Raven have double doors?

Double doors provide wide access for wheelbarrows and equipment. The opening is approximately 3ft 11" wide. This is essential for an 8ft wide greenhouse where you need to move soil, pots, and staging in and out. The doors also improve ventilation in summer when left open.

  • What dwarf wall specifications does the Raven need?

The dwarf wall is typically 600mm high with exact dimensions provided by Swallow. The wall must be perfectly level and square, with particular attention to the double door opening. Engineering bricks or standard house bricks both work well. Allow three weeks for mortar to cure before our installation team arrives.

  • What finish comes as standard on the Raven Dwarf Wall?

Natural ThermoWood finish is standard on Raven Dwarf Wall models. Oiled and painted finishes are available as upgrades. Ten factory paint colours include Bracken, Anthracite, Lily White, and Sage. The ThermoWood timber is rot-resistant regardless of finish choice, backed by a 12-year warranty.

  • How does the Raven Dwarf Wall compare to the Kingfisher Dwarf Wall?

The Raven is 8ft wide with double doors; the Kingfisher is 6ft wide with a single door. The Raven provides 33% more floor space at each length. It suits larger gardens and growers who need wide access for wheelbarrows. The Kingfisher Dwarf Wall is more affordable and suits standard-sized gardens.
