About our Halls greenhouses

We carry the full Halls Greenhouses range. Over 250 models, from compact 2x3 growhouses up to 10x20ft structures built for serious production. The frames are extruded aluminium, so they won't rust, rot, or need repainting. Prices start at £609 for a Halls Wall Garden lean-to and go up to £5,199 for a 20ft wide commercial model. Browse by size: 6x4 greenhouses, 6x6 greenhouses, 8x6 greenhouses, or our large greenhouses collection for 10ft+ widths.

Why we chose this range

"We've stocked Halls since we started in 2012. They're the most recognised greenhouse brand in the UK, and for good reason - the aluminium profiles are consistent, the glazing tolerances are tight, and if something goes wrong the warranty process is straightforward. The Popular line is still our best seller for people buying their first greenhouse. The Cotswold range fixed the biggest complaint we'd heard for years: that door threshold you trip over every time you carry a tray of seedlings in. Halls removed it entirely with a flush zero-threshold design. When the ICON series came out in black aluminium, it finally gave us something for customers who wanted a greenhouse that didn't look like it belonged in the 1990s."

Halls greenhouse ranges at a glance

Halls Popular

The UK's best-selling greenhouse range. 6ft and 8ft widths, silver or green frames. Single sliding door, built-in gutters, steel corner bracing. A 6x4 starts at £395, an 8x14 is £1,839. This is the workhorse - it does the job without fuss.

Halls Cotswold

The big difference here is the zero-threshold door. No metal bar to step over, so you can wheel a barrow or trolley straight in. Available as the 4ft wide Birdlip, 6ft wide Burford, or 8ft wide Blockley. Thicker aluminium profiles and deeper gutters than the Popular. Costs 40-60% more for the equivalent size, but you notice the difference when you're building it.

Halls ICON & Qube

Black aluminium, bar-capping glazing (no clips), contemporary flat-ridge design. The ICON has double sliding doors. The Qube uses box-section profiles for extra rigidity. Both look good next to modern fencing or composite decking. If someone tells you their greenhouse is "ugly", point them here.

Halls Lean-to & Wall Garden

These bolt against a house wall, fence, or garage. The Wall Garden range starts at £609 for a 2x4 mini lean-to. Larger 4x8 and 6x10 models suit side returns and narrow passages. The retained heat from the wall cuts heating costs by 30-40% in winter, which matters if you're growing year-round.

Halls 8x6 Greenhouse with Toughened Glass

Matt's pick: best all-round Halls greenhouse

Best for: First greenhouse, family gardens, allotments. The 8x6 fits 90% of UK plots.

Why I recommend it: "We've fitted more 8x6 greenhouses than any other size. You get a proper centre path with staging down both sides, enough floor space for 20+ tomato plants, and it still fits in a standard suburban garden. Go for the toughened glass - full-length panes are stronger and much easier to install than the overlapping squares."

Price: From £629 (toughened glass)

Matt's installation tip: get the base right first

The single biggest cause of greenhouse problems we see on site is a base that isn't level or isn't square. With the zero-threshold models (Cotswold and ICON) there's no bottom lip to hide mistakes. Before you tighten any bolts on the base plinth, measure diagonally corner to corner. Both diagonals must match within 3mm. If they don't, your base is diamond-shaped and the doors will bind, the glass won't seat properly, and you'll spend hours trying to fix it. Twenty minutes with a spirit level at this stage saves a full day of frustration. Read our full base preparation guide.

Quick glazing guide

Horticultural glass (3mm, overlapping 2ft squares) - cheapest option, good light transmission, breaks into sharp shards. Fine for adults-only gardens and allotments.

Toughened safety glass (3mm, full-length panes) - five times stronger, shatters into blunt granules if it does break. Our most popular choice. Pick this for family gardens or exposed sites.

Twin-wall polycarbonate (4mm) - near-unbreakable, best insulation, diffuses light evenly. Good for schools, windy sites, or if you have kids lobbing footballs nearby.

Frequently asked questions about Halls greenhouses

What sizes do Halls greenhouses come in?
From 2x3ft mini growhouses to 10x20ft professional structures. The most popular freestanding sizes are 6x4, 6x6, 8x6, and 6x10. Lean-to models go from 2x4ft up to 6x14ft. The 8x6 outsells everything else - 4.9m² gives you a centre path with staging down both sides.

Which glazing should I choose?
Toughened safety glass for most gardens. It's five times stronger than horticultural glass, comes in full-length panes (no fiddly overlaps), and crumbles into safe granules if it breaks. Horticultural is cheaper but shatters dangerously - only use it where children won't be around. Polycarbonate won't break at all and insulates better, but it yellows over time and you can't see through it as clearly.

Do Halls greenhouses need a base?
Yes. Every model needs a solid, level perimeter base. Concrete, paving slabs, or brickwork. Don't put a greenhouse on soil or grass - it'll subside and crack glass within a year. Our base preparation guide covers the full process. We can lay a base for you as an add-on to the installation.

How long does delivery take?
1-6 weeks to UK mainland addresses. Free. Standard silver models usually arrive in 2-3 weeks. Powder-coated finishes (green, black) take 4-6 weeks because of the coating process. The carrier rings you to arrange a day. Accessories ordered on their own ship in 3-5 working days.

Can I get it professionally installed?
Yes, on every model, anywhere in the UK. We've done over 150,000 installations since 2012. Fitting is typically 2-8 weeks after delivery. You need a level base with 18-24 inches of clearance round the sides. Our installation guide explains what to prepare before the fitters arrive.

What warranty do they have?
12 years on the aluminium frame. Covers structural defects and corrosion. Doesn't cover glazing, polycarbonate, or wind damage. You need to assemble it according to the instructions (or use our fitters). Keep your order confirmation as proof of purchase.

What's the difference between a Halls Popular and a Halls Cotswold?
The Cotswold has wider profiles, deeper gutters, and no door threshold. The Popular has a raised metal bar across the doorway that you step over every time. The Cotswold removes it completely - flush entry, so wheelbarrows and trolleys roll straight in. The aluminium is thicker too (28mm vs 20mm), and you can feel the difference when you're assembling it. Expect to pay 40-60% more for a Cotswold in the same size.
