About Our Combined Greenhouse Sheds
A combined greenhouse shed splits one building into two halves. One half is a glazed growing space. The other half is a solid potting and storage shed. You raise plants on one side and keep tools, pots and compost dry on the other. We stock 55 combination units and potting sheds in this range, starting from £1,069 for the Power Apex Combi. These units suit gardeners short on space who want both jobs done by a single footprint.
The combination shines when you garden all year. The shed side gives you a dry bench for sowing in February. The glass side warms up quickly for tomatoes and cucumbers by May. We also fit the timber units with a proper apex roof, so rain runs off cleanly. Browse our standalone Potting Sheds if you only need storage, our Wooden Greenhouses for a pure growing space, or add Greenhouse Staging to fit out the glazed half.
Why We Chose This Range
"We back the Swallow combination units because the join between shed and greenhouse stays sealed. Most hybrid buildings leak where the two roofs meet. Swallow bakes its timber at 215°C to drive out moisture, so the frame barely moves. I have seen ten-year-old Swallow combis with no felt tears at the join. That seal is the part most buyers never think to check."
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse Stores💡 Tip: Face the glazed half south or west. If the shed end blocks the midday sun, your crops will struggle to ripen.
🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: Lay a split base
Pour a concrete slab under the shed half and leave bare soil or paving slabs under the greenhouse half. The shed needs a dry, solid floor for storage. The greenhouse half drains better sitting over open ground, so spilt water and condensation soak away instead of pooling.
Matt's Pick: Swallow Kingfisher 6x8 Greenhouse + 4ft Shed Combination
Best For: Gardeners who want a true half-and-half unit in a compact footprint.
Why I Recommend It: The 4ft shed end holds a bench and tools, while the glazed end fits two grow beds. The ThermoWood frame needs no annual treatment.
Price: from £4,278

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is a combined greenhouse shed?
It is one building split into a glazed greenhouse half and a solid shed half. You grow plants on one side and store tools on the other, sharing a single base and roofline.
-
Do I need a floor in the greenhouse section?
No, keep the greenhouse half floorless on a base. This lets water drain away when you wash down. The shed half comes with a solid timber floor to keep equipment dry.
-
Which way should I face the greenhouse half?
Point the glazed half south or west. This gives the growing area the most daylight. Position the shed half on the north side, where it shields plants from cold wind.
-
Can I insulate the shed section later?
Yes, the timber-framed shed half takes insulation easily. Many owners add Rockwool and ply-lining to make a frost-free overwintering room or a warmer potting workspace for winter.
-
How much does a combined greenhouse shed cost?
Prices start from £1,069 for a small Power Apex Combi. Swallow ThermoWood combination units run higher, reflecting the longer-lasting heat-treated timber frame.
