What timber are Palmako Emilia greenhouses made from?

They are built from high-quality Nordic spruce. The walls are 18mm tongue-and-groove boards on a solid 44 x 95mm post-and-beam frame. This is thick, solid timber rather than thin cladding.

Is the glazing real glass or polycarbonate?

It is 4mm toughened safety glass throughout. That makes the Emilia a true glasshouse, not a polycarbonate kit. Toughened glass is strong, clear and safe around a family garden.

Is installation included?

No, these greenhouses are flat-packed for self-assembly. Delivery to the UK mainland is free. You build the greenhouse on a level, solid base using the supplied instructions.

You need a level, solid base such as concrete or paving slabs. The greenhouse should not sit on grass or bare soil. Prepare the base before delivery so you can start straight away.

How long is the warranty?

Every Palmako Emilia carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty. It covers defects in the timber and workmanship. The glazing is excluded, as is normal for greenhouses.

The product came very well packed and the driver put it where requested on my drive. I was called a week before delivery by the office to confirm the day. Almost everything needed to construct the greenhouse was included except spanners. Wall fixings, mastic and gun were. The manual was very good but does need to be read before starting and may be a bit difficult for a non practical person to get their head around. I Would definitely recommend Greenhouse Stores and the Elite Easygrow lean-to.

Excellent varied stock. Prices & inclusive items were very favourable. Delivery & erected Swallow Jay potting shed was swift , professional, polite & efficient. I am extremely satisfied with my experience with Greenhouse Stores

Verified Customer

The instructions were very good and building the greenhouse was like a giant mechano set. The one thing that threw me was the website and instructions showed the glazing for the walls in two pieces. What was delivered were single sections and it took me a while to find the revised instructions.

Verified Customer

I haven't managed to erect my greenhouse yet, but so looking forward to having it.

we will see after I’ve built it.

Verified Customer

The greenhouse parts plus glass arrived safely packed.
We erected the greenhouse ourselves and after a couple of initial errors we got into the swing of it and are really pleased with the results.
The diagrams in the instruction manual could be clearer but we got there, though it did seem to take many hours.

Verified Customer

Unfortunatly has not been put together yet,

Verified Customer

great comminication throughout and a great product

Verified Customer

We haven’t even opened it yet - waiting for greenhouse to be erected 😂

Verified Customer

Extremely helpful, could answer all my questions and give advice. Delivery was first class, one of the best delivery companies I've dealt with if not the best.
Product is fitted and looks great.

Verified Customer

It was easy to choose the greenhouse itself and then the extras. Hassle free and it was delivered when expected. I would however advise that you may want to hire someone to put it together for you, unless you are good at following this sort of instructions. The greenhouse looks fantastic and I am very happy to have bought it. I would recommend the Greenhouse Stores.

Verified Customer

ordered a 4x6 greenhouse which was delivered on time. My son put it up in a day and it looks lovely. Can't wait for the next spring growing season.

Verified Customer

Great in communication. Attentive. Concrete base layer needed and link to him enabled him to do it. Lean to greenhouse efficiently assembled. Highly recommended

Verified Customer

Brilliant service from start to finish and a slight issue with my order was resolved extremely quickly great service

Verified Customer

Great product and straight forward to assemble, would suggest a few addition 3D views in the assembly manual but thats only so you can confirm which orientation you are working on. Also make sure the base is securely fixed prior to the build and ensure you are within 1mm on corner to corner measuring so you know you are square before you start building up. Some of confusion on some of the instructions as the description can be read several ways. All in all a very simple build. Only concern is how it acts in strong winds, I have positioned mine adjacent to a fence on one side and a structure at the rear to try and reduce the potential for wind causing damage

About Our Palmako Wooden Greenhouses

Palmako has made timber garden buildings in Estonia since 1997. The Emilia range is their premium wooden greenhouse, built from high-quality Nordic spruce with 18mm tongue-and-groove walls on a 44 x 95mm post frame. Every model is glazed in 4mm toughened safety glass, so these are true glasshouses rather than polycarbonate kits. Prices in the Palmako Emilia range start from £2,590. The range spans six sizes, from a compact house up to the T-shaped 19.1m2 flagship.

Each Emilia comes in a choice of pressure-treated or factory-painted grey timber. Compare the whole timber category on our wooden greenhouses page, or browse the painted wooden greenhouses and T-shaped wooden greenhouses. Every Palmako Emilia is delivered free to the UK mainland and carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Why We Chose This Range

"Most timber greenhouses at this price glaze with polycarbonate. The Palmako Emilia uses 4mm toughened glass throughout, so it grows and looks like a proper glasshouse. The 18mm Nordic spruce walls are thick and solid, not thin cladding. It is a lot of greenhouse for the money, and the painted option saves you a job."

Matt, Founder of Greenhouse Stores

Matt's Tip: Pressure-treated or painted?

Choose pressure-treated if you want the lowest upkeep and do not mind a natural grey tone. Choose factory-painted grey (RAL 7012) if you want a finished look from day one. The paint is applied at the mill, so it is even and saves you coating the whole frame yourself.

Matt's Tip: Get the base right first

These greenhouses arrive flat-packed for self-assembly and need a level, solid base. We use concrete or paving slabs, checked level across the full footprint. Build the base before delivery so you can start the moment the kit arrives. A sloping base makes the glass hard to seat and the doors hard to hang.

Matt's Pick: Palmako Emilia M 8x12

Best For: the keen grower who wants staging down both walls

Why I Recommend It: the 8ft x 12ft footprint is the sweet spot. It takes a path plus benching on both sides, with 8.2m2 of growing space and 4mm toughened glass throughout.

Price: from £3,250
