About Our Greenhouse Ties, Hooks and Supports

We stock 8 in-stock fixings from Elite, Vitavia and Palram Canopia, priced from £14. Each hook, clip and tying eye slots into aluminium glazing bar channels. No drilling needed. These are the same parts we fit on our own display greenhouses. Browse the wider greenhouse accessories range for trays, shelving and propagation kit.

The range covers three jobs. Hanging baskets and pots use plastic hooks and plant hangers. Training cordon tomatoes and cucumbers needs tying eyes and trellising kits. Insulation clips hold bubble wrap off the glass. Pair these with greenhouse staging for potting space, or shading and clips for summer heat control. Each product page lists the brands it fits.

Why We Chose This Range

"We tried dozens of generic greenhouse hooks over the years. Most snapped within two seasons from UV damage. The Elite and Vitavia parts we stock now lasted five-plus years on our Sheffield display greenhouses. The Palram plant hangers are the only ones cut for narrow polycarbonate glazing bars."

💡 Tip: Buy more hooks than you think you need. A 6ft x 8ft greenhouse takes 12 to 16 fixing points for a proper training wire setup. Running short mid-season means disturbing established plants.

🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: Training Wire Setup

Fix tying eyes at 150cm height along both sides of the ridge bar. Space them 60cm apart. Run 1.5mm galvanised wire between them and tension it until there is no visible sag. Tie plant stems to the wire every 30cm with soft ties. This spreads the crop weight across many fixing points instead of loading one hook.

Elite Tying Eyes Pack of 6

Matt's Pick for Heavy Crops

Best For: training cordon tomatoes and cucumbers

Why I Recommend It: a ripe cordon hits 8kg by August. These steel eyes hold a wire that carries that load. Plastic hooks pull free.

Frequently asked questions

What greenhouse hooks do I need for tomatoes?

Use metal tying eyes for tomato plants. A mature cordon tomato reaches 8kg by August. Plastic twist-in hooks are rated to just 2kg and pull free under that weight. We fit Elite Tying Eyes with a horizontal training wire for the strongest support.

Do these hooks fit all greenhouse brands?

Most fit any greenhouse with 25mm aluminium channels. That covers Elite, Vitavia, Halls and most models built after 1995. Palram Canopia frames use narrower 16mm polycarbonate bars. They need Palram plant hangers or the Trellising Kit Pro.

How do I attach hooks without drilling?

Insert the T-head into the channel and twist 90 degrees. The hook then locks against the inner walls of the glazing bar. For screwhooks, thread clockwise until the washer sits firm. Neither method damages the frame or voids your warranty.

How many hooks do I need for my greenhouse?

Plan for two to three hooks per metre of glazing bar. A typical 6ft x 8ft greenhouse needs 12 to 16 fixing points for a full training wire system. For hanging baskets only, four to six hooks along the ridge bar is enough.

Can I use these hooks in a wooden greenhouse?

No, these fixings suit aluminium channels only. Wooden frames need screw-in eye hooks fixed straight into the timber. Our range is cut for the T-slot channels found in metal-framed greenhouses.
