The Elite Slimline Tube Greenhouse Heater is a 2000W electric tubular heater with a built-in thermostat. Unlike most tube heaters that run at a fixed output, this model adjusts itself to maintain your chosen temperature. It carries an IP44 rating for use in damp greenhouse conditions. The green enamel finish blends with standard aluminium greenhouse frames.
Tubular heaters are the quiet, low-maintenance option for greenhouse heating. There are no fans, no gas cylinders, and no flames to manage. You plug it in, set the thermostat, and it provides a steady background warmth that keeps the air above freezing. The built-in thermostat is a genuine advantage here รขยย most tube heaters need a separate external thermostat, which adds cost and complexity.
The heater mounts on the floor along a greenhouse wall or fixes to the frame at a low level. Positioning it below staging works well, as the warmth rises through your plants naturally. The automatic heat-sensitive safety cut-out adds protection against overheating. Made by Elite Greenhouses, this is a practical electric heating solution for growers who want simple, set-and-forget frost protection.

A solid base is the backbone of any greenhouse. You might think skipping this step saves time, but trust me?I've seen plenty of greenhouses fail because of poor foundations. A dodgy base causes more headaches than you'd believe.
What happens with a bad base? Glass cracks. Doors jam. The structure twists. Water pools where it shouldn't. And fixing these problems costs way more than doing it right first time.

The best position for a greenhouse in the UK is south-facing with the ridge running east to west. Keep at least 2 metres from buildings and trees, on level ground with good drainage. A south-facing 6x8 greenhouse runs 3-5 degrees C warmer than the same model facing north.
