Janssens Helios Senior Greenhouses

About our janssens helios senior greenhouses

The Janssens Helios Senior Greenhouses collection represents the perfect balance of professional durability and hobbyist practicality. Often described as the "no-nonsense classic" of the Janssens range, the Helios Senior is designed for gardeners who demand superior strength without the larger footprint of the commercial-sized models.

Manufactured in Belgium, these structures utilise tubular box section aluminium profiles, which are significantly stronger than the standard U-channel frames found on cheaper alternatives.

Choosing your janssens helios senior greenhouse

Selecting the right model depends on your available space and aesthetic preference. The collection is broadly split into two styles:

• Helios Senior Hobby: Features a clean mill-finish or green powder coating for a modern look.
• Helios Senior Victorian: Adds decorative roof cresting and finials for a traditional English garden aesthetic.

Size-wise, the Senior range typically starts at 7ft or 8ft wide, making it ideal for medium-sized gardens. If you require a wider span with higher eaves (201cm), you might consider the Janssens Helios Master Greenhouses.

Prices generally start from £2,500, showing the premium materials used. For those dealing with uneven terrain or specific aesthetic needs, we also offer Janssens Mur Dwarf Wall Greenhouses which sit on a brick base.

Frequently Asked Questions

• What is the difference between Helios Senior and Helios Master?

The main difference is the eaves height and width options. The Helios Senior has 181cm eaves, whereas the Janssens Helios Master Greenhouses feature taller 201cm eaves. The Master range also generally offers wider footprints for larger gardens.

• Is the Janssens Helios Senior difficult to install?

Due to the heavy-duty box section aluminium and substantial glass weight, assembly is a 2-person job that takes 1-2 days. While the instructions are full, we offer a professional UK Installation Service if you prefer a hassle-free build.

• Does the Helios Senior come with a base?

Yes, all Helios Senior models feature an integral aluminium base profile (foundation beam). This self-supporting base removes the need for a traditional concrete perimeter, allowing you to anchor the greenhouse directly to a level paved or concrete slab surface.

• What is the difference between the "Hobby" and "Victorian" models?

The structural integrity is identical, but the aesthetics differ. The "Hobby" is a modern, functional design. The "Victorian" upgrade includes a powder-coated finish (usually Black or Green) and adds decorative roof crestings and finials for a classic English garden look.

• How much does a Janssens Helios Senior cost?

Prices typically range from £2,500 for smaller mill-finish models up to £5,500 for larger, fully accessorised Victorian editions. This investment covers a structure designed to last a lifetime, backed by a 13-year warranty.

• How do I add accessories like staging or extra vents?

We make this simple. On each greenhouse product page, we list all compatible accessories, from staging and shelving to extra vents and rainwater kits. You can select everything you need in one place, so it's perfectly tailored to your chosen greenhouse model before you add it to your basket.
