The 8ft x 8ft Palmako Emilia S is a premium wooden greenhouse in high-quality Nordic spruce. It is glazed throughout in 4mm toughened safety glass. It suits a compact garden or a first proper wooden greenhouse.
The frame uses solid 18mm tongue-and-groove cladding on stout 44 x 95mm posts. This is a true wooden greenhouse, glazed in 4mm toughened safety glass rather than polycarbonate. The steep 45-degree roof sheds rain and snow, and pulls daylight onto the staging. The ridge stands 286cm (9ft 5") high, with 159cm (5ft 3") to the eaves.
The Palmako Emilia S is factory-painted in grey RAL 7012, so it holds its looks with little upkeep. It arrives flat-packed for self-assembly on a level base, and carries a 5-year Palmako warranty.
The grey paint is applied under cover at the Palmako factory. You get a flat, even finish and skip the job of painting a whole greenhouse yourself.

A solid base is the backbone of any greenhouse. You might think skipping this step saves time, but trust me?I've seen plenty of greenhouses fail because of poor foundations. A dodgy base causes more headaches than you'd believe.
What happens with a bad base? Glass cracks. Doors jam. The structure twists. Water pools where it shouldn't. And fixing these problems costs way more than doing it right first time.

The best position for a greenhouse in the UK is south-facing with the ridge running east to west. Keep at least 2 metres from buildings and trees, on level ground with good drainage. A south-facing 6x8 greenhouse runs 3-5 degrees C warmer than the same model facing north.
