About our power tools sheds
Power tools sheds are purpose-built wooden sheds for storing drills, saws, sanders, and other power equipment safely and securely. Power is one of the UK's leading timber shed manufacturers. Their sheds use pressure-treated timber that resists rot for years without retreatment. The treated timber carries a long manufacturer warranty straight out of the box.
Every Power shed features tongue-and-groove cladding, a solid sheet floor, and lockable doors. The pressure treatment penetrates the timber rather than just coating the surface, giving genuine long-term protection against damp and decay. For plastic alternatives that need zero maintenance, see our plastic sheds. For larger workspace options, browse our garden workshops collection.
Why We Chose This Range
"Power sheds offer honest quality at a fair price. The pressure-treated timber means customers do not need to buy expensive wood preservative before they even start using the shed. I have seen cheaper sheds arrive with barely-treated timber that rots within two years. Power's treatment process goes right through the wood. These are proper garden buildings."

Matt's Tip
If you are storing power tools, consider adding a padlock hasp rated to Sold Secure standards. The built-in latch keeps the door closed, but a quality padlock deters opportunistic theft. Keep silica gel packets inside the shed during winter to absorb moisture and protect your tools from rust. A cheap battery-powered dehumidifier also works well in sheds without mains power.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are Power sheds pressure treated?
Yes, all Power sheds use pressure-treated tongue-and-groove timber. The treatment is forced into the wood under pressure, not just painted on the surface. This protects against rot, fungal decay, and insect damage. You do not need to apply additional preservative before first use.
-
What base does a Power shed need?
A firm, level base of concrete, slabs, or treated timber bearers. Do not place wooden sheds directly on soil or grass. Concrete provides the most stable long-term base. Paving slabs on compacted sand work well for smaller models. Level the base to within 10mm across the full footprint.
-
Do Power sheds come with a floor?
Yes, Power sheds include a solid sheet floor as standard. The floor sits on pressure-treated bearers that raise it above ground level. This airflow gap prevents damp rising from below. The floor supports heavy items like workbenches and power tool cabinets.
-
How do I keep tools dry in a wooden shed?
Good ventilation and moisture control prevent rust and damp damage. Raise power tools off the floor on shelving or wall hooks. Use silica gel packets or a rechargeable dehumidifier during winter months. Check the roof felt annually and replace if cracked or torn. A small gap under the door allows air circulation.
-
Do Power sheds need planning permission?
Most garden sheds fall under permitted development rights. They must be single storey with a maximum eaves height of 2.5m and 4m ridge height for a dual-pitched roof. They cannot cover more than half your garden area. Sheds must not be forward of the front elevation of the house. Check with your local council if you live in a conservation area.
