The Vitavia Freya is a freestanding greenhouse. Although it features a mono-pitch (pent) roof similar to a lean-to, it is self-supporting and can be installed anywhere in your garden.

The 6mm Twin-Wall Polycarbonate roof is designed to diffuse direct sunlight, stopping leaf scorch during summer while offering superior heat retention in winter compared to single-pane glass.

Does the Vitavia Freya require a special base?

The Freya comes with an integral low-threshold base. However, because the entry is flush with the ground, it requires a perfectly level hard standing (concrete or paving slabs) to ensure the doors operate correctly.

What glazing comes with the Vitavia Freya?

The Freya features a hybrid glazing system: 3mm Toughened Safety Glass on the front and sides for clarity, and 6mm Twin-Wall Polycarbonate on the roof for insulation and shading.

Great product and straight forward to assemble, would suggest a few addition 3D views in the assembly manual but thats only so you can confirm which orientation you are working on. Also make sure the base is securely fixed prior to the build and ensure you are within 1mm on corner to corner measuring so you know you are square before you start building up. Some of confusion on some of the instructions as the description can be read several ways. All in all a very simple build. Only concern is how it acts in strong winds, I have positioned mine adjacent to a fence on one side and a structure at the rear to try and reduce the potential for wind causing damage

The Freya features a fantastic barrier-free low threshold, making it easy to wheelbarrow in and out. However, this design leaves no room for error in your groundwork.

Important Step: Because the door track sits flush with the ground, you must install this greenhouse on a perfectly level concrete or paved perimeter. Unlike standard greenhouses where a high metal base can bridge small gaps, the Freya requires a flat surface to ensure the double sliding doors glide smoothly.

Common questions about the vitavia freya

Do I need a wall to install the Freya?

No. Although it has a "lean-to" style pent roof, the Freya is a completely freestanding greenhouse. You can place it anywhere in your garden without needing a supporting wall.

Why does it have a polycarbonate roof but glass sides?

This is a "Hybrid" design. The 6mm Twin-Wall Polycarbonate roof insulates against heat loss in winter and diffuses sunlight in summer to prevent plants from scorching. The Toughened Safety Glass sides provide weight, rigidity, and the traditional clear look of a premium greenhouse.

What sizes are available?

The Freya comes in two main sizes: the Freya 5900 (8x6 approx) and the Freya 7600 (8x8 approx). Both feature the same high-eave pent roof design.

Does it come with a base?

The Freya includes a built-in Low Threshold base plinth. You do not need to buy a separate base, but you do need to prepare a level foundation (slabs or concrete) for it to sit on.
