  No, Lifetime HDPE sheds are completely maintenance-free. The double-walled polyethylene panels will not rot, rust, peel or fade. You never need to paint, stain or treat them. An occasional wash with soapy water and a garden hose is all that is needed to keep them looking new. This is one of the main advantages over wooden sheds, which typically need re-treating every 1-2 years.

• How strong are Lifetime plastic sheds?

  Lifetime sheds withstand an 816 kg snow load on the roof. The combination of double-walled HDPE panels and powder-coated steel trusses creates a structure that outperforms most single-skin plastic sheds. The walls resist impacts that would crack thinner polypropylene panels, and the steel reinforcement prevents sagging under heavy loads.

• Are lifetime sheds weatherproof?

  Yes, Lifetime sheds are fully weatherproof straight from the box. The HDPE panels interlock tightly, the roof includes a sealed skylight strip, and the doors feature rubber gaskets. Screened gable vents allow airflow while keeping rain and insects out. We have installed these sheds across the Midlands and they perform well in exposed, windy positions.

• How long does assembly take?

  Most Lifetime sheds take 4-8 hours with two people. The HDPE panels slot together using a channel-and-clip system. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, a rubber mallet and a step ladder for the roof panels. The 7ft models go up in around 4 hours. The 15ft models need a full day. If you would prefer not to do it yourself, we offer a nationwide installation service.

• Can I put shelving inside a Lifetime shed?

  Yes, Lifetime sheds have a built-in shelving channel system. The interior wall panels include horizontal rails that accept Lifetime-branded shelving kits. You can also drill into the HDPE panels to mount hooks, brackets and custom shelving. The double-walled construction gives a solid fixing point for heavier items.

• Do I need a concrete base for a Lifetime shed?
