About the Norhage Vegg lean-to greenhouses
A lean-to greenhouse uses a wall you already own as its fourth side. That saves space and it saves heat. The Norhage Vegg range is built in Norway on the same principles as the freestanding Tre 300. The frame is impregnated Swedish pine, pressure treated at the factory. The roof ribs are solid plywood, cut into a Gothic arch so snow slides off instead of settling. Both models are rated to a 280 kg/m² snow load and 25 m/s wind.
Glazing is 6mm twin-wall polycarbonate rather than glass. The twin wall traps a layer of air between two skins. It holds heat better than a single pane and it will not shatter, which matters on a house fixed at head height against a wall. You can upgrade to 10mm or 16mm on the Vegg 300 for an exposed plot or winter growing. No back wall is supplied with either model. You are fixing to brick, block or render that is already there.
The Lite Vegg 150 is the compact option at 1570mm (5ft 2") wide by 2020mm (6ft 8") long. It fits a courtyard, a passage or a short stretch of house wall. The Vegg 300 is 3 metres (9ft 10") wide and runs from 3 to 6 metres long, giving 9 to 18 square metres. The Lite Vegg 150 starts at £1,650 and the longest Vegg 300 is £3,099. Every Vegg comes with free UK mainland delivery, a 5-year frame guarantee and a 10-year guarantee on the polycarbonate.

Measure the clear run of wall, not the whole elevation. Downpipes, gas boxes, outside taps and low windows all eat into it. You need the full length free plus a little either side to work. Check the wall is sound too, because the frame fixes back into it. Few garden walls are truly flat or plumb, and that is normal. Matt's Tip: Face it south or west if you can
A south or west-facing wall is the prize. It takes sun for most of the day and releases that heat into the greenhouse at night. A north-facing wall still works for potting and overwintering hardy stock. It just will not give you early tomatoes.

No. The greenhouse fixes to an existing wall, which forms the fourth side. You supply the wall in brick, block or render.

How tall does my wall need to be?
The Vegg 300 needs 2650mm (8ft 8") of clear wall at the ridge. The Lite Vegg 150 needs 2300mm (7ft 7"). Measure to the underside of any gutter or overhang.

Which way should a lean-to greenhouse face?
South or west-facing is best. The wall stores heat through the day and releases it overnight. A north-facing wall still suits potting and overwintering.

What glazing do the Vegg lean-tos use?
It is 6mm twin-wall polycarbonate as standard, upgradeable to 10mm or 16mm on the Vegg 300. Two skins with an air gap between them insulate far better than one sheet of glass. Polycarbonate is also the safer choice overhead at head height.

What base does a Norhage lean-to need?
Concrete or paving slabs, laid level along the full length of the wall. Do not stand it on grass or bare soil. Get the base down before the kit arrives.

How long is the warranty?
Five years on the frame and ten years on the polycarbonate. Build it to the supplied instructions and both stand.

No. Both models arrive flat-packed and you build them yourself. UK mainland delivery is free and takes about five weeks.
