About our power apex log cabins 28mm
Power 28mm apex log cabins feature a traditional peaked roof that sheds rain efficiently and maximises headroom inside. Every cabin is built in Britain from sustainably sourced Scandinavian timber. Standard features include double-glazed uPVC windows, EPDM roofing and 5-point locks.
The apex roof gives you full standing height across the centre of the cabin. This makes them feel more spacious than pent alternatives. For year-round insulated use, consider the 44mm Power range. For a modern flat-profile design, see our 28mm pent cabins.
Why We Chose This Range
"The apex roof is still the most popular shape with our customers. It looks like a proper building, sheds rain well and gives you headroom right to the edges. The 28mm version keeps the price accessible without cutting corners on the glazing or roof membrane."

Matt's Tip
When fitting the apex roof boards, start from the eaves and work upwards on both sides equally. Completing one side first can shift the ridge off centre. You will then struggle to seat the last boards properly.

| Feature | 28mm Apex (This Range) | 28mm Pent | 28mm Chalet |
|---|---|---|---|

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is an apex roof on a log cabin?
An apex roof has two sloping sides that meet at a central ridge. This is the traditional peaked roof shape. It provides more headroom than a pent roof and sheds rainwater equally to both sides of the building.
-
Are 28mm apex cabins suitable for a garden office?
Yes, the extra headroom makes apex cabins popular for home offices. The double-glazed windows provide good sound insulation from garden noise. Add internal insulation for comfortable winter use.
-
What is the eaves height on a 28mm apex cabin?
Eaves height is approximately 1.9m on most 28mm apex models. The ridge height sits around 2.5m. This keeps the building within permitted development rules for most gardens without planning permission.
-
How does the EPDM roof perform on an apex cabin?
EPDM rubber roofing lasts 25 years or more without maintenance. On an apex roof it sheds water quickly, reducing the risk of pooling. The membrane is installed in a single sheet with no seams to fail over time.
-
Can I add guttering to a 28mm apex cabin?
Yes, standard half-round guttering fits the eaves boards on all Power cabins. Fit a downpipe at each corner and direct the water to a soakaway or water butt. We recommend fitting guttering during assembly before the scaffolding comes down.
