We reach for this valve whenever a tray needs plumbing in a hurry. One end is a 3/4 inch female thread. The other is a 3/4 inch male thread. You drop it through the drain-point hole alongside a lead through, nip up the nut, and that joint is done. A tap goes on top.
That tap earns its keep. Open it wider and more water floods the tray; nip it down and the bed drains slower. On the far side, ordinary 25mm PVC pushes straight on for the supply and return run. Small brass-and-plastic thing, but it is the difference between a tray you control and one you fight.
