Ultimate layout: Designed for an 8x6 greenhouse, this kit pairs twenty 15L pots across ten easy2grow trays. The larger pots give climbing crops more room to grow. They suit tomatoes, cucumbers and melons. Water comes from a separate reservoir by gravity, so there is no pump to run. No mains water connection or electricity is needed.
When fitting an 8x6 greenhouse, we recommend this AutoPot automatic greenhouse irrigation system for heavier-feeding climbing crops. In this greenhouse watering kit, twenty 15L pots sit in ten paired easy2grow trays.
The AQUAvalve5 handles the watering automatically. It lets a shallow 20mm layer of water into each tray, then shuts off. Once the plants have used that water, the valve opens and tops the tray up again. Water flows in by gravity from an external water butt or reservoir, so no pump is needed.
What is included
- 20x 15L Pot
- 10x 2Pot Tray and Lid
- 10x AQUAvalve5
- 20x Square Root Control Sock
- 20x Marix Disc
- 1x 16mm Click Fit Filter
- 2 metres of 9mm Pipe
- 8 metres of 16mm Pipe
- 10x 16mm-9mm Tee Connector
- 3x 16mm Elbow Connector
- 1x 16mm In-Line Tap
What you still need
You need one separate water butt or reservoir of at least 200L. This is not included with the kit.
If you keep a reservoir inside the greenhouse, leave enough room for it. You may need to remove one or two modules.
How to set it up
- Choose a firm, level surface and check that every tray sits flat.
- Place the external water butt or reservoir 150mm / 6 inches above the system.
- Water the plants by hand when you first pot them up. Wait 7-28 days for roots to establish before turning on the system.
- Flush the pipework every week.
