About our elite belmont greenhouses
The Elite Belmont is an 8ft 5in (2572mm) wide greenhouse built for growers who need more elbow room than a 6ft frame allows. Manufactured in Bolton, Lancashire, it features cantilever roof bracing that reinforces the wide span without obstructing the interior. Every Belmont includes an integral aluminium base with a low threshold entry, built-in guttering, and a 20-year framework warranty.
At 8ft 5in, the Belmont is the narrowest width that comfortably supports double-sided staging with a central walkway. We stock sizes from the compact 8x8 up to the 8x16, each available in horticultural, toughened, or polycarbonate glazing. For the same 8ft width with taller eaves, see the Elite Zenith. For a heavy-duty 8ft frame built for extreme weather, see the Elite Titan 800.
Why We Chose This Range
"We stock the Belmont because it is the gold standard for 8ft wide aluminium greenhouses. Most imported brands stop at 6ft wide. Elite understands that serious growers need staging on both sides with room to move between them. When we fit the Belmont, customers are always surprised by how much space that extra 2ft of width creates. The integral base is part of the frame itself, not a flimsy afterthought bolted underneath."

Standard belmont models
Available in horticultural (3mm), toughened (4mm safety), or 6mm polycarbonate glazing. Single sliding door as standard with the option to upgrade to double doors. All models include roof vents and the integral low threshold base.
Belmont starter kit packages
Our packages bundle the Belmont with heavy-duty 7-slat staging, shelving, automatic roof and louvre vent openers, and rainwater downpipes. Available on 8x10 to 8x16 sizes. Saves 15-20% compared to buying accessories individually.
Double door upgrade
We highly recommend double doors on the Belmont. The 8ft width means you will regularly move wide loads through the entrance. Double sliding doors make wheelbarrow and wheelchair access far easier than a single door.
Glazing Advice
For the Belmont's large pane sizes, toughened glass offers the best combination of safety and longevity. Polycarbonate is ideal for heated greenhouses or locations prone to ball sports. Horticultural glass suits sheltered gardens on a tighter budget.
Elite belmont size & price guide
| Size | Floor Area | Toughened From | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8x8 | 64 sq ft | £939 (hort) | Compact wide-body greenhouse |
| 8x10 | 80 sq ft | £1,339 | Double-sided staging, hobby growing |
| 8x12 ⭐ | 96 sq ft | £1,519 | Serious growers, Matt's Pick |
| 8x14 | 112 sq ft | £1,699 | Mixed growing zones, propagation area |
| 8x16 | 128 sq ft | £1,949 | Semi-professional production |
💡 Quick Guide: The 8x12 is our best-selling Belmont. It gives you 96 sq ft, enough for double-sided staging, a propagation bench at one end, and a comfortable central aisle. If you want the same 8ft width with higher eaves for tall crops, look at the Elite Zenith.
🔧 Matt's Installation Tip: The 8ft Foundation
At 8ft 5in wide, the Belmont has a much larger footprint than standard models. Ground heave and base levels are critical at this span. If your base is out of level by more than 5mm across that 8ft span, the double doors will not meet correctly and the lock will bind.
We recommend a 100mm concrete pad for the Belmont rather than paving slabs. If you do use slabs, they must be on a full mortar bed, not just spot-bedded. Read our full base preparation guide here.
The Elite Belmont range starts from £939 for the 8x8 horticultural model. Toughened models start from £1,339 for the 8x10. All models include the integral base, built-in guttering, and a 20-year framework warranty. Free UK delivery included. Our professional installation service is available nationwide. For 12ft wide professional growing, see the Elite Classique.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
How wide is the Elite Belmont greenhouse?
The Elite Belmont is 8ft 5in (2572mm) wide. This extra width over a standard 8ft model is deliberate. It allows staging on both sides with a comfortable central walkway wide enough for a wheelbarrow. The width supports double-sided heavy-duty staging without feeling cramped.
-
Does the Elite Belmont come with a base?
Yes, the Belmont includes an integral aluminium base as standard. This is not a separate part but is built into the frame itself. It provides the signature low threshold entry and incredible structural strength. No separate steel base plinth is needed.
-
Can I add double doors to the Elite Belmont?
Yes, double sliding doors are an optional upgrade on all Belmonts. We highly recommend double doors for the 8ft width. They make access with wheelbarrows, large pots, and wheelchairs far easier. The double door option adds a second sliding panel to the standard single door.
-
What is the difference between the Belmont and the Zenith?
Both are 8ft wide, but the Zenith has taller eaves. The Belmont has standard 4ft 3in eaves, while the Zenith has 5ft 2in eaves. Choose the Zenith for tall crops and high-level shelving. Choose the Belmont for maximum value at the 8ft width.
-
Is the Elite Belmont suitable for windy gardens?
Yes, the cantilever bracing handles most UK wind conditions. For open or coastal gardens, upgrade to Bar Capping for extra security. If you live in an extreme wind zone, the Elite Titan 800 uses a heavier box-section frame designed specifically for severe weather.
-
What warranty does the Elite Belmont carry?
The Belmont carries a 20-year manufacturer's framework warranty. This is one of the longest warranties in the industry. It covers the aluminium frame against manufacturing defects and corrosion. All Elite greenhouses are made from high-tensile alloy in Bolton, UK.
