About our grey rattan furniture sets
Grey is the best-selling rattan colour in the UK. It pairs with natural stone, timber decking, and painted fences without clashing. Our grey rattan sets feature hand-woven PE rattan over powder-coated steel or aluminium frames. The synthetic weave is UV-stabilised to resist fading and rated for year-round outdoor use.
We stock grey rattan across every furniture type. Browse rattan sofa sets for lounging, rattan dining sets for outdoor meals, and rattan firepit sets for year-round entertaining. For matching accessories, see our rattan storage boxes.
Why We Chose This Range
“Grey rattan outsells every other colour three to one. It suits both modern and traditional gardens. It doesn’t show dirt as quickly as lighter colours. We focused on flat-weave PE rattan because it dries faster after rain. It’s also easier to wipe clean than round-weave alternatives. Customers tell us it matches their existing patio without any effort.”

Quick Guide: Grey rattan suits both modern and traditional gardens. Flat-weave PE rattan dries faster after rain than round weave. The synthetic material is UV-stabilised and will not rot, crack, or fade. Store cushions in a dry box over winter. The rattan frame itself needs no covers.
Matt's Buying Tip: Winter Care
Store your cushions indoors or in a rattan storage box over winter. The rattan frames handle frost and rain without damage. Cushion fabric lasts twice as long when kept dry between October and March. A quick jet wash in spring brings the weave back to looking brand new.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is grey rattan furniture weatherproof?
Yes, PE rattan is fully weatherproof and UV-stabilised. The synthetic weave will not rot, crack, or fade in direct sunlight. Steel or aluminium frames are powder-coated to prevent rust. You can leave grey rattan outdoors year-round. Bring cushions inside during prolonged wet spells.
-
How do I clean grey rattan furniture?
Wipe with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a garden hose or low-pressure jet wash. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners as they can strip the UV coating. Machine-wash removable cushion covers on a gentle cycle. Most sets need cleaning just two or three times per season.
-
Does grey rattan fade in the sun?
Quality PE rattan is UV-stabilised and resists fading. All our grey rattan sets use UV-treated polyethylene weave. This prevents the bleaching that affects natural rattan in direct sunlight. After several years you may notice very slight colour softening. The grey tone stays consistent throughout the set.
-
What frame material is under the rattan?
Most sets use powder-coated steel or aluminium frames. Steel frames are heavier and more stable in windy gardens. Aluminium frames are lighter and easier to move around. Both materials are rust-resistant. Check individual product pages for exact frame specifications.
-
Can I leave grey rattan furniture out all winter?
Yes, PE rattan handles frost, rain, and snow without damage. The synthetic weave will not crack or warp in cold temperatures. Store removable cushions indoors or in a storage box during winter. A breathable furniture cover reduces the spring clean-up but is not essential for the rattan.

Why is grey the most popular rattan colour?
Grey matches the widest range of garden styles and surfaces. It pairs with stone patios, timber decking, and painted fences. Grey hides dirt and marks better than lighter shades. It suits both modern and traditional garden designs without clashing with existing features.
