The Norhage Tre 300 10x13 wooden greenhouse is the shortest model in the range. It is the one most gardeners start with. Twelve square metres holds two raised beds and a path down the middle. This polycarbonate greenhouse suits an ordinary back garden rather than a plot.
What you notice first is the curve. Each arch is cut from solid plywood, so the roof sweeps over in one piece. Snow slides off rather than settling on it. The rest of the frame is Swedish pine, treated before it leaves the factory.
Twin-wall polycarbonate is two skins with a gap between them. The trapped air is what holds the warmth in. Light arrives scattered rather than direct, so seedlings along the edges get their share instead of sitting in shade.
Six millimetre twin-wall is standard. Ten and sixteen millimetre are both available as upgrades. On a small greenhouse the thicker sheet earns its keep on a windy plot, or if you grow through winter.
Timber moves. It takes up moisture and gives it back as the weather turns, so the frame wants an occasional look over. An aluminium greenhouse asks less of you, if that matters more than the appearance.
Please note the polycarbonate is supplied in full standard sheets and is not cut to length. A built greenhouse ends up fractionally different from its drawing, so full sheets guarantee a fit. Allow time to trim them during assembly.
