Complete layout: This kit is designed for climbing crops in an 8x6 greenhouse. It has ten easy2grow trays and twenty 8.5L pots, with two pots in each tray. The paired pots suit tomatoes, cucumbers, melons and other climbing crops. A separate reservoir feeds the trays by gravity. The system needs no pump, mains water connection or electricity.
For climbing crops in an 8x6 greenhouse, we recommend this AutoPot automatic greenhouse irrigation system. The greenhouse watering kit has twenty 8.5L pots in ten paired easy2grow trays.
The AQUAvalve5 handles the watering automatically. It lets a shallow 20mm layer of water into each tray, then shuts off. Once the plants have used that water, the valve opens and tops the tray up again. Water flows in by gravity from an external water butt or reservoir, so no pump is needed.
What is included
- 20x 8.5L Pot
- 10x 2Pot Tray and Lid
- 10x AQUAvalve5
- 20x Square Root Control Sock
- 20x Marix Disc
- 1x 16mm Click Fit Filter
- 2 metres of 9mm Pipe
- 8 metres of 16mm Pipe
- 10x 16mm-9mm Tee Connector
- 3x 16mm Elbow Connector
- 1x 16mm In-Line Tap
What you still need
You need one separate water butt or reservoir of at least 200L. This is not included with the kit.
If you keep a reservoir inside the greenhouse, leave enough room for it. You may need to remove one or two modules.
How to set it up
- Choose a firm, level surface and check that every tray sits flat.
- Place the external water butt or reservoir 150mm / 6 inches above the system.
- Water the plants by hand when you first pot them up. Wait 7-28 days for roots to establish before turning on the system.
- Flush the pipework every week.
