About our palram canopia skylight apex sheds
The Palram Canopia Skylight Apex range is our most popular plastic shed collection. With 12 models across 6 sizes and 2 colours, it covers everything from compact tool storage to large garden workshops. The apex (peaked) roof design gives maximum headroom at the centre and sheds rainwater evenly to both sides. Every model features the unique Skylight translucent roof that floods the interior with daylight.
Built from shatterproof polycarbonate panels on a rust-free aluminium frame, these sheds need no painting, treating, or maintenance. The polycarbonate panels are the same grade we use in our Palram greenhouses. Prices range from £488 for the 4x6 to £1,133 for the 6x12. All include an integrated non-slip floor, lockable doors, and gable vents. For single-slope models, see our Skylight Pent sheds.
Why We Chose This Range
"I have been selling Palram Skylight sheds for years and the feedback is consistently positive. Customers love that the roof lets in light without looking like a greenhouse from outside. The polycarbonate does not crack in cold weather like cheaper plastic sheds do. The aluminium frame goes together cleanly and the doors align well. I recommend the 6x8 for most gardens. It gives you enough room for a mower, bikes, and tools without dominating the space."

Matt's pick for skylight apex shedsBest For: General garden storage including mower, bikes, and hand tools Why I Recommend It: The 6x8 hits the sweet spot between size and price. Double doors fit a push mower easily, and the 2150mm ridge height lets you walk around in comfort. There is enough floor space for bikes along one wall with tools on the other. Price: £735 |
Matt's Tip
Choose grey for a modern garden or tan if you want a warmer, wood-effect look. Both colours use the same polycarbonate panels and aluminium frame. The tan finish hides soil and mud marks better, which is handy if you are storing garden tools. For the 6x8 and larger models, lay a concrete pad rather than slabs. The extra weight keeps things stable in high winds. It also gives you a smoother floor for wheeling equipment in and out.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What sizes do Palram Skylight Apex sheds come in?
The range includes 6 sizes from 6x3 to 6x12. The smallest is the 6x3 at £488, ideal for tools and garden supplies. The largest is the 6x12 at £1,133, big enough for a ride-on mower and workshop space. Each size is available in grey and tan, giving you 12 models to choose from.
-
Are palram skylight sheds waterproof?
Yes, the polycarbonate panels and sealed joints keep rain out. The panels slot into the aluminium frame channels with rubber gaskets that prevent water ingress. The integrated floor sits above ground level to stop rising damp. Gable vents allow airflow to reduce condensation without letting rain in.
-
Do these sheds come with a floor?
Yes, every Skylight Apex shed includes an integrated non-slip PVC floor. The floor is built into the base frame and provides a solid, waterproof surface. It supports heavy items like mowers and workbenches. Ground anchor points are built into the floor corners for bolting to your concrete base or slabs.
-
How do Skylight sheds compare to wooden sheds?
Skylight sheds cost less long-term because they need zero maintenance. A wooden shed needs annual treating, painting, and eventual timber replacement. Palram polycarbonate does not rot, rust, or fade. The 10-year warranty exceeds most timber shed guarantees. The trade-off is that polycarbonate panels cannot be customised as easily as wood. For traditional timber options, browse our wooden sheds range.

Can I fit shelving inside a Skylight shed?
Yes, Palram offers compatible shelf kits that mount to the frame. The aluminium frame has built-in channels for official accessory brackets. You can also use freestanding metal shelving units on the solid PVC floor. For the 6x8 and above, fit a shelf along one wall. The opposite side stays clear for bikes or a mower.
