About our hörmann metal sheds
Hörmann metal sheds are German-engineered from hot-dip galvanised steel. The Berry range includes pent and apex roof styles in sizes from compact storage units to full 10x8ft garden sheds. Prices start from £0 for the Europa compact storage unit. Every panel is galvanised to prevent rust, corrosion and weathering.
The anthracite grey finish gives Hörmann sheds a modern look that suits contemporary gardens. Unlike wooden sheds, these never need painting, treating or replacing rotten panels. The galvanised steel construction is maintenance-free for the life of the shed. For tools, bikes, mowers and general garden storage, Hörmann offers the most durable option we stock.
We also carry wooden sheds from Power if you prefer a traditional look. See our full sheds range or browse metal sheds from other brands.
Why We Chose This Range
"Hörmann is a name I trust. They make the garage doors on half the houses in Europe. Their metal sheds use the same galvanised steel and the same engineering standards. I have handled plenty of cheap metal sheds that flex and rattle in the wind. These do not. The panels lock together with precision and the doors close flush every time. German engineering at its best."

Matt's Tip
Metal sheds conduct cold in winter and heat in summer. If you plan to use yours as a workshop, line the inside walls with 25mm insulation board. This stops condensation forming on the steel panels overnight. Condensation drips onto tools and causes rust. A £50 roll of insulation prevents hundreds of pounds of damage.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do Hörmann metal sheds rust?
No, Hörmann sheds use hot-dip galvanised steel that resists rust. The galvanising process coats every surface with a protective zinc layer. This prevents corrosion even in coastal areas with salt air. The anthracite grey powder coat adds a second layer of protection on top.
-
How do Hörmann sheds compare to wooden sheds?
Metal sheds need zero maintenance while wooden sheds need annual treatment. Hörmann galvanised steel will not rot, warp or attract insects. Wooden sheds offer a more traditional look but require yearly preservative coats. Metal sheds last longer with less effort.
-
Can I insulate a Hörmann metal shed?
Yes, fit 25mm insulation board to the inside walls with adhesive. This reduces condensation and moderates temperature swings. Use foil-backed insulation for best results. Leave a 10mm gap at the base for airflow. This turns a cold metal shed into a usable year-round workspace.
-
What base does a metal shed need?
A flat concrete pad or paving slab base is essential for metal sheds. Metal panels must sit on a perfectly level surface or the doors will not close properly. Do not place metal sheds directly on soil or grass. Moisture underneath causes condensation problems inside.
-
How long does assembly take?
Two people can assemble a Hörmann metal shed in 3-6 hours. The panels bolt together with standard tools. No welding or specialist skills are needed. The instructions are clear and well-illustrated. Larger models like the 10x8ft take closer to 6 hours.
