About Our Nursery & Microgreen Cabinets
A nursery cabinet is a propagation box with the lights and watering trays already fitted. The two Kitchenfarm models are bench-height units with Sanlight Flex II LEDs over a pair of eb & flow trays, ideal for microgreens and a steady run of salad. The two Nursery cabinets are tall 204cm units with three lit shelves, built to raise large batches of seedlings and cuttings. Prices run from £1,259 for the Kitchenfarm Small up to £2,869 for the 1m² Nursery cabinet.
Choose by what you are raising. The Kitchenfarm Small gives 0.54m² across two trays under four Flex II lights; the Kitchenfarm XL widens that to six lights for bigger trays. Step up to the tall Nursery cabinets for three shelves of growing surface: the 1m² model holds twelve Eazy Plug cutting trays, which is 104 cuttings at once. All four arrive with the LEDs and eb & flow trays in the box. If you want more lighting later, browse grow lights and propagation lights.
Why We Chose This Range
"Nursery cabinets earn their place when you are raising a lot of young plants at once. A propagator on a windowsill is fine for a tray or two, but it runs out of light and room fast. These cabinets bring the LEDs right down over the trays and stack the growing on shelves, so a small footprint raises a serious batch. My steer: pick a Kitchenfarm for microgreens and salad on a bench, and a tall Nursery cabinet if you are propagating cuttings by the hundred. Both already include the lights, which is the expensive part done."
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse Stores💡 Tip: Keep the LEDs close over microgreens, around 20-30cm. Seedlings reaching and going leggy is the classic sign the light sits too high. Drop the shelf or raise the trays until the growth stays short and stocky.
🔧 Matt's Tip: Plan your tray rotation
Three lit shelves let you stagger sowings. Sow one shelf, then the next a week later, and you get a rolling harvest of microgreens instead of a single glut. The eb & flow trays water from below, so the leaves stay dry and clean.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is a nursery cabinet for?
Raising seedlings, cuttings and microgreens indoors at volume. The cabinet brings LED lights down over eb & flow trays, so young plants get even light and bottom watering across several shelves.
-
Are the grow lights included?
Yes, every model ships with Sanlight Flex II LEDs fitted. The Kitchenfarm Small has four; the XL has six. The tall Nursery cabinets light all three shelves. No separate light purchase is needed to start.
-
Which cabinet suits microgreens best?
The Kitchenfarm models suit microgreens and salad on a bench. They give 0.54m² or more of tray surface under close LEDs, which is the even, low light microgreens want for short, stocky growth.
-
How many cuttings can the Nursery cabinet hold?
The 1m² Nursery cabinet holds twelve Eazy Plug cutting trays, which is 104 cuttings at once. Spread across three lit shelves, that is a large propagation batch from a small footprint.
-
What are eb & flow trays?
They water plants from below, flooding then draining the tray. Roots take up what they need and the leaves stay dry, which cuts disease in densely sown microgreens and cutting trays.
-
Can I add more growing height?
Yes, the Kitchenfarm models take a height extension set with extra lights and a tray. See cabinet extensions and spares for the matching kit.
