About Our Cabinet Extensions & Spares
A height extension set raises an existing grow cabinet so you gain growing room without replacing the whole thing. The two Bonanza kits add 56cm of height and include the lock to secure the new section. The two Kitchenfarm kits do more: each brings an aluminium extension frame, extra Sanlight Flex II LEDs and another eb & flow tray, so you add both height and a full second growing layer. Prices run from £235 for the Bonanza 0.35m² kit up to £445 for the Kitchenfarm XL kit.
The one rule that matters: a kit fits one cabinet size only. The Bonanza 0.35m² set and the Bonanza 1m² set are not interchangeable, and the Kitchenfarm and Kitchenfarm XL kits differ in frame width and LED count. Check the model on your cabinet before ordering. If you are not sure which you own, our team can match it from your order. To browse the cabinets these kits fit, see climate-controlled cabinets and nursery cabinets.
Why We Chose This Range
"Extensions are here because a cabinet you have outgrown is not a cabinet you need to replace. Crops get taller, or you want one more tray of microgreens, and a 56cm height kit solves it for a fraction of a new unit. The Kitchenfarm kits are the better value of the two, since you get lights and a tray as well as the frame. My one warning: order the kit that matches your exact model. A Bonanza 0.35m² set will not fit the 1m² cabinet, so check before you click."
— Matt, Founder of Greenhouse Stores💡 Tip: Fit the extension before your tall crops need it, not after. Tomatoes and climbing beans put on height quickly, and lifting a kit over a full cabinet of plants is awkward. Add the section while the cabinet is still part-empty.
🔧 Matt's Tip: Keep the lock
The Bonanza kits include a lock to clamp the new section to the original frame. It is a small part that is easy to mislay in the packaging. Fit it straight away, because without it the extension can work loose over a season of opening and closing.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What does a height extension set do?
It raises an existing grow cabinet so you gain growing room. The Bonanza kits add 56cm of height; the Kitchenfarm kits add a frame, Sanlight LEDs and an eb & flow tray for a second growing layer.
-
Will any kit fit my cabinet?
No, each kit fits one cabinet model only. A Bonanza 0.35m² set does not fit the 1m² cabinet. Check the model on your cabinet, or ask our team to match it from your order.
-
How much height does a Bonanza kit add?
Each Bonanza height set adds 56cm and includes a lock to secure the new section. That is enough headroom for taller herbs and chillies, or an extra run of pots above the originals.
-
What is in a Kitchenfarm extension kit?
An aluminium frame, Sanlight Flex II LEDs and an eb & flow tray. The Kitchenfarm Small kit has two LEDs; the XL kit has three. You add a full lit growing layer, not just height.
-
Do I need tools to fit an extension?
Basic hand tools and the included lock are enough. The frames use the same plastic connectors as the cabinets, so the section bolts on without specialist kit. Allow an unhurried half hour.
