Choosing your wooden greenhouse

A wooden greenhouse makes a lovely place to grow tomatoes, raise seedlings or keep your favourite plants. Start with the space in your garden and how much growing room you need. We have small models for a patio, larger greenhouses with room for benches, and lean-tos that fit against a wall.

If you'd like us to take care of the build, choose Swallow. Installation is included south of Glasgow. Palmako and Norhage are delivered as kits for you to assemble. We're happy to talk through the options before you order.

Questions before you order

• Do your wooden greenhouses come with installation?

  Swallow includes free installation south of Glasgow. Have a suitable, level base ready for the fitters. Palmako and Norhage are supplied for self-assembly.

• Which size should I choose?

  Start with the space available and what you want to grow. Leave room to open the door and move around your plants. Check the model's actual measurements before ordering.

• Do I need to prepare a base?

  Yes, your greenhouse needs a suitable, level base. Choose your model before building the base, then follow its base drawing. We can help if you are unsure.

• Can I build a Palmako or Norhage greenhouse myself?

  Both ranges are supplied as self-assembly kits. Plan for two people and read the instructions before starting. The time needed depends on the size and your experience.

• Do the greenhouses have glass or polycarbonate?

  Swallow and Palmako have toughened glass; Norhage has polycarbonate panels. Polycarbonate is a lightweight alternative to glass. Each model page explains what is included and any available options.

• How much looking after will the wood need?

  Check the wood each year and follow the maker's care instructions. Painted finishes may need repainting over time. Swallow ThermoWood can weather to a silver-grey colour or be oiled to keep its original look.

• When will my greenhouse arrive?

  Delivery times vary by range and season. Check the current estimate on your chosen model's page. If you need it for a particular date, call us before ordering.

• What warranty is included?

  Swallow has a 12-year warranty; Palmako and Norhage have five-year frame warranties. Check your chosen model for the full cover and care requirements.
